Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

I'm perplexed...

I watched the hour long Ask The Boss podcast the other day of Pascoe and Fulton saying how they're doing everything amazing for the club, there's no issues and everyone gets along great. Fulton also made a massive point about how there is no issue between Balmain and West's at all and that is was a load of media crap that theres any issue between him and Benji.

Then I immediately listened to Lees phone call to Voss the day after the board was sacked. You know.... Where he said there's so much scheming going on behind people's backs and the West's and Balmain sides don't get along...

... And today Fulton gets the sack.

Was Pascoe a guy with good intentions but is too business orientated for footy types? Or is his view of it as a business counterintuitive to what we actually need?

Welcome and I like the cut of your jib.

“Ask the sloth” was a good idea but had a tendency to become another pr show for Lee and Co.

There was the rare glimmer of truth, quickly buried in the long term comedy that “ things are on the up”

I think Justin had good intentions. I would have liked him to stay on in a lessor role.

He left with dignity unlike others.

He betrayed Tim when it was needed. His shining moment at he club.

Tim out there on the media saying that the appointment of Fulton was “paper talk” when it was actually for real.

And his pre game kicking was better than Brooksy.

Welcome, the past, though not forgotten, is history, you’ve come at a really good time, hopefully the start of our renaissance.

We’ve been through a million false dawns, but this is less false than others.

I’d still like to know what Fultons crimes were. He’s done some good things. I liked his fresh outlook.

And my reservations about Benji remain, but I’m not the only one.

I hope he proves me wrong. It won’t worry me.

I’m feeling he will, but I get that feeling at this time most years.

Well Benji has a bit of leave pass for this season anyway.

His press conferences are going to be entertaining word salad either way.

Not that he’s been appointed for his post game soliloquy. If we can win games, he could just sit there sneezing and I’d be Ok with it.

Wests Life said he was heavily influenced by Bennett, but left out his undying love of Timmy.

Twitter:
Justin Olam has agreed to terms with WT, and will make an immediate move to the club. WT will pick up the remaining years of his contract until the end of 2026. Shawn Blore will likely join the Storm a year early, having agreed a deal for 2025

Got him, yeah hahahaha

Best of luck Shawn.

I can't see this team, even without Luai failing...Benji won't be a failure. We might not make the eight, we might just well do.
We actually have a bloody good roster and it was all about getting rid of the toxic culture in the joint and we've done that.
Benji actually gets in there with the boys at training, a bit like the old captain/coach days.
He's old enough to have some experience and young enough to bond with the players.
This should work. As I said, I can't see him being a failure, not in the true sense of the word anyway.

Im along the lines of thinking things were too robust with the two men...Fulton being backed by the bosses at the time would not have helped Benji and his tenure either.

Regardless, he had to go. If we have a smooth year off the field, I will call that a big win for the club.....not looking at on-field results to be honest, just some sort of progression and players putting their hand up for the tigers beyond 2024.

Strange, the next big news to happen, getting Olam and we are discussing Benji’s prospects, that have hopefully improved with this blokes signing?

Olams definitely been on the outer at the storm, hasn’t played to his potential for quite awhile.

Hopefully it is mainly personal issues with Bellamy and his staff which we can fix very easily with a new supportive environment for him.

Bellamy’s days are numbered I think. It’s unfortunate that his contribution to the game is tainted with horrific tackling techniques, throwing public tantrums, angry press conferences, robotic play and winning grand finals no one cares less about.

His career would have been much better served at the Tigers. Something meaningful.

So far as we know, we have a pretty tight and happy playing group with the head coach in the thick of the training. If Olam can’t find himself with us, he’s finished.

He will need to work very hard to get into the first grade.

Brings up a few scenarios for positions doesn’t it.

It leaves the rest of the centres fighting for one spot.

We got a shit load of young wingers and 6’s, depth is great.
