I actually thought under circumstances he handled himself ok but as you said the proof is in the pudding.
We all saw Marshall conducting the show in the coaches box with Tim in the back ground probably mentoring, I don't know. But what he did well is keep Benji out of the media and keep the pressure off him.
I've said it before, how would we have gone with the same squad and Bellamy at the healm. I don't think we would have got the spoon twice and he would have recruited better.
Yeah, I think Bellamy (& Bennett) have the reputation to attract players, I think the club may have thought Sheens may have had that as well, but he had been away for too long. Though if they had remembered, they wouldn’t have rehired him.

I said earlier, I don’t really care who is coach or player, if they get us success then I am happy, if they don’t, well …..next.

I’m getting to f**king old to be loyal to players and coaches, who don’t deliver, just my luck, my dad lived in Balmain and I grew up there, so my history was written in black and gold. Though I wouldn’t change a thing:)

I have had the honour of wearing the black and gold and it's tattooed on my back. No turning around now. My dad said life was not meant to be easy....he must have been talking about supporting this crazy club :D
I've got tiger/saints/wests and glebe royalty in my family and they were sane, sensible and contented folk.... what's happening to me then....why why why.

If Gould is saying he's stunned, then I smell a rat?

It stinks for sure. Although he's 'retired' and the dogs don't have to pay him anything next year, they are paying him $250K. Why would you do that? If he really wanted to retire, you'd say 'OK mate. All the best in the ring.' You would not wipe $250K off your cap that you sorely need.

My gut feeling is that they've told him to f**k off, and paid him something close to the $750K he was on, maybe $500 to $650K, to keep him quiet. Then they've put him down for $250K on the cap, hoping people wouldn't speculate too much on his sudden departure. A departure to a sport he's starting from the ground up at age 27, and where you have to be twice as fit as an NRL player. There are no shortcuts and laziness will see you laid on your arse. This type of work ethic is not something Tevita has been renowned for in the past.

That plan is erroneous though. The fact they are paying him anything, and putting it in their cap, makes me want to ask more questions and dig into it deeper. The NRL integrity unit should open up this up to review. Instead they'll fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

So sorry if this has been said but isn't he off contract?

Where are the announcements for Sullivan and Sezer?

I would have thought they would come out yesterday to cover up the coaching cluster f**k.

Was it a cluster f**k yesterday?
The coach had to go, it was only a matter of when, he chose to jump before he was pushed.
Now we get to see what Benji brings a season early.

But yeah, re the new signings, unless there is some red tape to tackle, I would have thought they would have been announced by now, maybe Tim did his thing to quick for them?

It was a cluster f**k because again the board made a mia culpa.

It makes us look worse than just the team running last.
I see it the other way, the coach had to go (as many coaches go each season) and the board wanted to go in a new direction, I’m pleased this has happened, but do agree that they made there biggest mistake bringing him back.

Now rectified.

Letting Sheens walk from the club early is a shockingly poor look.
Remember we brought him back as he Head of Football, a position overseeing the operations of the football department. This seemed a good move due to his experience, contacts within the game and his reputation for development of juniors.
Did we leave him alone to run this side of the business? No. He was used to get rid of the incumbant coach, which he completely botched.
Did we let him do his job and rectify this mistake? No. He was urged to take up the clipboard himself.
Was he afforded the opportunity to coach this side how he wished? No. He had to babysit a complete greenhorn and train him to take over in 2 years time, whilst having his decisions and strategies white-anted from above.

All along, he has been working towards the goal of building, developing and handing over a top 8 squad to Benji for the commencement of season 2025. Now he has walked away early, leaving a squad still in transition to be handed over to a coach not ready. Additionally, the club has not used him to resume his role of Head of Football and instead are seriously entertaining the idea of elevating Farah to this role.

Every move made over the past 2 seasons has been a waste of time and now Benji and Robbie may hold the top two positions on the football side of the organisation.
What a f**ken shitshow lol...

Starting of course with bringing back Sheens from England in the first place. It’s been jobs for the boys ever since.

I wonder how Robbie will feel about being Head of Football when he’s instructed by the board to sack Benji?

Replacing the head moron with his assistant doesn't fill you with confidence though does it.
