Rusty Let Us Bring Maitua Home

Melbourne have stated that they wont be making a play for Reni as they havent got any room in there cap, they have tried shoping some of there players around but havent been able to make room for Reni. North Queensland pulled out about 10 days ago so they arent in the race. Cronullas appeal would be less than it was as Stuart is no longer Australian coach and i dont know how serious they are.Not a good look signing Maitua with the ongoing Bird saga. I am pretty confident he wil be in the Red and Green.

I thought so also!

HALF a dozen Australian NRL clubs are ready to chase Kiwi rugby league international Simon Mannering if he ends negotiations with the New Zealand Warriors.
Souths are one club being linked to Mannering, who was the Warriors' player of the year in 2008.
Mannering's manager Steve Gillis says at least another five Australian clubs are also showing interest.
Aged 22 and able to play in the second-row and at centre, Mannering seems an outstanding prospect. He was one of the stars of New Zealand's win in this year's World Cup.
Mannering's contract with the Warriors ends next season and Gillis says his client is anxious to settle his long-term future as soon as possible.
"Simon wants to explore extending his contract with the Warriors and hopefully we can sort something out quickly," Gillis said.
"I'll be talking to (Warriors CEO) Wayne Scurrah in the next fortnight. Things are starting to take shape."
Mannering has also emerged as a possible target for wealthy rugby union clubs in Europe but Gillis said that a switch of codes was unlikely. (Go You Bunnies)

They must have released Bird thats the only way they could fit him under the cap.
Bbut if Bird takes them to court and wins they are in the sh*t they are then well over the cap!
Sharks can have him. At some point this coming season the Sharks will regret signing him.

Its a shame we missed out on him,he could of added alot to our pack.Good luck to him, i am a big fan of his and i hope he turns things around at the sharks. He has to much ability to waste by going on the way he has been. The other side of the coin for us is that we will have some serious cash to play with for 2010 with no heavily weighted back end contract for Reni plus Kidwell,Hegarty,Stuart and others being of contract at seasons end. All players should be on notice that we wont tolerate another season like 08.If guys dont perform in 09 get rid of them and get the cheque book out!

Hes a dog, I hope he gets injured for the fugging year.

Another sell-out junior a la Anasta.

Big headed greedy, useless, selfish mangey trouble-maker, tosser.

I hope Sutto smashes him for his treachery.

Deadset cretinous fugwit, just as well I had second thoughts.

His loss.

The fact that Maitua didn't sign with Souths shows that Richo & Rusty did a good job in putting a decent offer on the table, but weren't that desperate for his signature to give him the deal that he wanted.

Not so good for the sharks though, as Reni will now make Northies his second home, so he's bound to get into trouble again. Also the burden of having a wayward Maitua and a Bird court battle could well be too much for the sharks and they will end up going broke.

The positives in this are that we will still make the finals and at last we can kill this thread.... yippeeeeeeeee!

Hell hath no fury like a Rabbitoh scorned!

Hes a drunken lout treasonous pig, overrated, big headed, disloyal drunkard.

A bad influence on all he meets.

The bulldogs were right to boot him up the ass, he tried to get back in, but they sent him on his way.

On your way Reni you wretched genius.

And Im not even warmed up yet Surely. My loathing and contempt for Reni hasnt even yet touched the sides.

Reni the reticent rabble rouser rooted (bulldogs) reject.

If the wooden spooners dump you, you must be a complete fugwit.

And I like the bloke.

Best news I've heard in a long time.

I believe it is the players duty to show clubs why they should sign him. He has done a whole lot of nothing on the field for the past 12+ months, and caused endless trouble off the field. We have a no d-h policy for a reason. It keeps trouble from the door, because the media need little encouragement to try to slander our name in the press... lets face it, the Rabbitohs sell newspapers.

But the question is, did Reni deserve to be signed up by us, or anyone for that matter, for the 2009 season.... the answer is no.

Yeah, and it sure is fun dissing him for the hell of it.

Reni the renegade, a season of contempt from me.
