So much this.
We brought someone over from successful systems ostensibly to replicate those systems.
What has he done?
Well, we’re back at the point where we ask the question… is it the coach or lack of cattle? Was the same question not long before Brown was punted.
I think it is a bit of both. I don’t buy into the view that recruitment has been good. Not at all.
We just got our arses handed to us (30 f**king points) by a team with a back five of Garrick, Harper, Koula, Saab and Tuipolotu.
Frontrow starters of Keppie and Aloiai.
Backrow gun Andrew Davey ffs.
We have massive issues in the back row and centres. Same as it was under Brown.
We’ve had back luck with Brailey, that can’t be argued.
Newcastle haven’t had a decent half since Andrew Johns. That can’t be argued.
We’ve pretty much developed f**k all decent juniors for 20 years ( flame away over the exact time frame) and are years away from developing a wave of decent NRL players.
No idea what happens behind the scenes at the club in a myriad of departments but it has to be time to bring in a coach who puts some grit into whatever we have and gets the playing group to do anything they can to get a win. As often as possible.
