I reckon give the rest of the year to McDermott and give him a chance to prove his good enough for the job. If not, we can get the Madge or maybe even Ryles?

I don't think AOB is actually the problem.

Just not sure he is the solution.

Unfortunately I don't think the solution exists. We are just cursed to be soft in the head forever.

It’s not his coaching. It’s his inability to actively find players he needs to create within his structures. Melbourne’s system has always been structure and repetition to perfection . And within that you create the chances that instinctive footy can take advantage of. Munster being the ultimate example. The most freakish off the cuff player perhaps ever to lace a boot.

Please be true... we need change... I dunno if I can handle a 5th year of this. That's half a decade if he survives another year... we've tolerated this shit long enough for you to have had a child and get them into kindergarten.

If you had a kid last time we won a comp, then they're graduating university by now.

I often wonder what McDermott thinks when he hears O’Brien bang on about winning premierships. The most successful coach in SL history having to be an assistant to him is rather ironic.

If we start to spectacularly capitulate then AOB is gone. This could be the catalyst.

Let's see how he goes getting them prepped for the reigning premiers, under this kind of heat.

I mean the article is bullshit - Parr has already said that he was happy to give Marzhew a fine but it was the leadership group that decided he should have been dropped…nothing about AOB. Unless some of the players are unhappy about the leadership group’s decision, but that’s a whole other issue.

In saying that though surely pressure should be mounting on the coach regardless due to our on field performance on the weekend.

I’m ready for a 71-6 type of drubbing the Broncos gave us in Brisbane some years back now. That was an awful day.
It's funny how upset that loss made me back then. Now I'd just get a bit grumpy during the game, laugh it off and get on with my evening. That's where the club has put me after all these years. It's impossible to care about them in any meaningful way and maintain your sanity anymore.

Honestly, I tune in as much to have a giggle on here as anything else. There's still this little flame burning in there somewhere... but it's very dim.

I would welcome that sort of flogging this weekend. It feels like we deserve it.

And fall to bits in the last 10mins, just so the coach can compliment us on our effort
We're so predictable, we can call the shots before they happen.

AOB will say they had a marvellous week at training, especially Crossland and Mann.

We'll show some spirit for 10 minutes when the game is gone and maybe even get a lucky try to Dom Young after he's used his God gifted athletic ability.

We'll lose the game and AOB will say we needed to win but how can he fault the blokes efforts.

He needs to get got. Why we living week by week? We need someone who can build the club around. Our club is in the same or worse shape since he arrived.

It’s definitely worse. We made the finals in his first two seasons. Probably off the back of the side that Browny built. Not a great first grade coach Browny but he could build a side. He at at least had that going for him unlike AOB…our recruitment decisions have definitely gone down hill since he arrived.

What are the positives AOB has provided for us this year? I would say the following;

1. Ponga finally looks like he's put it all together - his mindset and skills. It's taken half a season but I feel like the real Ponga has finally arrived
2. We are probably playing our best attacking footy under AOB since the 2020 season.
3. Along with Ponga, I'd say Marzhew, Best, Gagai, Young, Fitz, Friz and Thompson are all having career years this year

Now where AOB falls short:

1. He hasn't been able to get everyone on that page, and I suppose I'm really thinking of the Saifitis there.
2. We've let in some of the softest tries ever this season, yet our scramble has actually been great on occasions throughout the year
3. Losing Brailey and relying on Crossland is really killing AOB's hopes and dreams here
4. Not having a focus on improving goal kicking.
