You're an even bigger dope than Mary, if that's possible.

Massive hypothetical but what would you say if dragons did infact win the comp this year under McGregor. Now I know its highly unlikely but if it did happen how would you react?
Would you openly admit that you were wrong and mcgregor wasn't a peanut or would you just keep up the negative bs and say mary still should be sacked and to hell with the board and coach?
I am guessing that you would leave this forum without a trace because you only post when saying something negative.
I have literally never once seen you post something other than criticism of the club or another member of the forum, not once.....

The way we are now , we could not be any better . We are ahead of most teams with stats . If we continue the season as we are , then yes they would extend his time here . But before doing that lets get at least to the half way mark . 2015 still sticks in my mind 6 straight wins then lost 7 straight . So before we resign Mary I would like a few more games to see how it pans out . I would hate to sign him now then find its 2015 all over again . In saying that there seems to be a different feel about the team .....

Agree , there is absolutely no reason to rush this decision . The board really does need to sit back and watch what results McGregor can obtain from a team , that is currently proving all of his critics wrong , by playing some damn fine football , both in attack and defence .

But getting back to what you have mentioned hazzbeen " a different feel about the team "
Besides the great footy , it's also their commitment and comradeship (?) to each other .

Now that is something which we have not seen for quite sometime , it seems that they truly believe in one another , a sign of a good team .

I can't believe you're declaring Mary a success, kid.

ur funny ! At the end of 2016 he was quite possibly the worst coach in the NRL - credit to him he took the criticism , changed his style of coaching and so far has successfully instilled the new playing style into a group of players who are all lauding him in the media .. as far as I'm concerned the coach has succeeded to instil a style of play that suits our squad.. .. We lead the table, total points scored, best differential and leading point scorer!

It's only round 6 but the coach has turned this team around - look at ither clubs like Penrith, Souths, Nth Qld who are under performing .. Nonetheless this is a moot post - Mcgregor has been told a 2 year contract is awaiting him and HE WILL SIGN IT !!

You know, most people, would walk into work to start this week with a smile on there face.
They will look at there fellow workers, smile, and say "see whos coming first?" And ask everyone every single day "whos leading the comp?" Lol
Its called enjoying the moment.
On the other hand though, you have people that even if there team was to win the GF, would come out and say "but mary is coach... our board is a rabble... oust doust".
It puts a smile on my face that such sad negative people walk amongst us.
5 wins from six games. Sitting first. Best attacking team. 2nd best defensive team.
We might just fall apart this week and lose every remaining game... but by the same token we could also go undefeated the rest of the year.
Smile peoples.... as it stands... we dont have that much to be sad about at the moment.

This is the Benchmark, this is what we should expect from our team, after 6 rounds leading the comp, I hope it continues, if we finish 1st at the end of the year, it will prove that Paul McGregor can coach or whatever systems they have in place work.

*An inward looking board whose primary objective is to prop up their individual positions;
*a thoroughly unworthy head coach;
*one premiership in 38 years with no desire to modernise;
*mediocrity seeping through the club and seemingly even it's 'hardcore' fans;
*no to professionalism and yes to nepotism
*a democratic charter that would make N Korea proud
*debt

But don't let the above inconvenient truths dampen your 5-wins celebrations.

Only one point I disagree with - there's been nothing mediocre about this years efforts on the field in the NRL so far. Even in our loss to the Slimeys - effort wasn't the issue.

I'm feeling pretty good about the Dragons atm and enjoying every second of it.

Looking forward to plenty of competative games, more wins and some continued improvement.

Hope you can join us at some stage.

Try explaining to a Broncs, Storm, Rorters or Dogs fan your definition of success - being 5 wins to start the year.

When the hungar to genuinely succeed is even lost in the fans, what's the point of the club existing, for participation awards? Embarrassing.

I'd rather not be compared to these cheating clubs that simply find ways to abuse the systems in place. Greed and deception can be worse than incompetence!

The HungEr for the club to (genuinely) succeed for this particular fan hasn't been lost. I'm sure there are many others the hunger hasn't been lost on either.

Because we are celebrating positive results on the field doesn't mean we have forgotten that the club has been run poorly for a while now and is losing money. However if we acknowledge some changes are being made, that haven't been previously addressed I see that as a positive and just maybe we are turning ourselves around, hopefully both on and off the field.

It's fine to have an objective view - but why does that objective always need to be so negative/pessimistic?

Well said , Hopefully we could be moving forward , but still not sure about our coach as yet . 5 wins dosnt oust the previous dismal years . I hope he continues and proves me wrong .....
