I want Uncle Wayne back
Imagine how fast things would change around here!

Nights would be gooone, TOTAL DRAGONS LEGEND sure! hes even on my profile photo Love the guy one of my fave modern Dragons ever! but he needs a tap on the shoulder hes way too proud to go on his own accord, hed be picked literally in NO other team at the moment...and it is sad seeing him out there being lapped by kids.....Mann strait onto his wing hes a gun and fast speedy skilled winger who topped the tryscoring in 2016 and at least would get a chance to shine and play a full game every damn week as deserved he might even knock Lafai out of his centre spot so another fast kid can come onto the wing

Lomax IN!! future superstar who would be playing in ANY other team since round 1, should be the other centre with Mann or Lafai, Aitken taking Manns role off the bench
Wayne would easily be able to bring some of the Broncos budding young guns down with him also...and a few more of our talented kids would be getting some game time .... hed also fast turn guys like Sele and Lawrie into top first graders pretty fast and get rid of the deadwood

Imagine if he signed and bought JD with him as coaching assistant till he could take over when Wayne finally does retire? win win

Mate you make way too much sense! Ever thought of taking over from Doust?!

In Wayne we would trust!

Crush old boy, I ain't no cranky old man regarding Mary, I just don't trust the bas##ard!

From your point of view, what has he achieved in the last 3 years?

Has he "done good"?

You think he is the man to take us to the top?

Does the way he talks, the way he presents himself fill you with confidence?

Has he ever delivered when the test is put to him?

You forget how he blamed the field for being 3 metres too long last year, how he blamed teams scoring tries from kicks for our losses.....and other inane comments for our WEAK AS PISS final 12 games last year.

How he kept picking McCrone, how he kept picking Rein, how he still hasn't fixed Nightys side of our defence.

You do realise he gets paid good money to win games, come up with the right game plans, develop our players, choose the right team and get us to the to 4.

He is not doing it for free.

It's not under 15s.

He gets $9,000 a week or more!!.

He is not a professional coach, he is just an ex player, the Roosters even sacked Freddy Fittler from coach, Soufs sacked Madge, Grubs sacked Hasler, Titans sacked Neil Henry. Manly sacked Toovey. Tigers sacked Taylor.

Gould even sacked Cleary!!

Broncos want Wayne gone!!

But we hang onto Mary for goodness sakes crush.

It's laughable.

Mary is not a winner, he is
"Mr Excuse"

Sack him, he is not the future, if we want decent success.

He has had his chance, years and years of it.

Time for change.

Don't just blindly defend him, tell us in the last 3 years what he has done so well that makes you say he is the man for the job?
EVERY coach talks about tries from kicks. It's a way of praising the goal line defense, they have to resort to kicks to score. Ive heard Bellamy, Flanno, all of them use this.
"He blamed the field for being 3 metres long" Rubbish. You read the forum too much. He was merely saying how close but how far we were to getting across the try line.
Look I don't think McGregor is a great coach. He is way too conservative. The fact that he won't drop underperforming players frustrates me. His use of the bench baffles me. He isn't an inspiring public speaker. I think that there are muvh better coaches than him.
BUT, the hysteria and hatred that gets thrown around on here is a joke.
Its round 13 in 2018 and we are looking to be in a good position.
He is our coach and isn't going anywhere nor should he at this present moment.
I will be holding off on my sack the coach rage for a little while.
But you go ahead and rip in now.
You might look silly though when/if we win the comp this year.

Oh my gods, a balanced opinion that applies standards across the board and pays attention to the game outside what’s said on the forum!
Burn the witch!
Seriously though, this is bang on. There’s plenty of fair criticisms to make of how he coaches, but it’s also clear he’s improved the team markedly over his time as coach. And improved as a coach (from a low base yes).

You’re still wrong about Lafai though.

Sorry son, that's straight-out, unabashed, mediocrity.

There's a few of us who hold winning in higher regard. Sure you want the team to win. But just not enough. If you did, you'd be burning with anger at the thought of having this muppet run the team.

Sorry crazy uncle Obtuse, this is unabashed, bald faced inability to respond to an actual argument.
Repeating your usual word salad of mediocrity and demonstrating your refusal to ever actually discuss football and cite evidence to make your point might convince some but frankly it’s sub mediocre.
Also - given we’ve won 9 games And you’ve acted like it’s us winning that burns you I think all the evidence says crush likes winning more than you do.
If we win vs the dogs will you disappear again, or will it take 3-4 wins before you pack it in?

Why the "If we win vs the dogs" quote?
This shouldn't be in doubt for you people who wont to rip it up those that think Mc Fookknuckle is a dud.
"If" shouldn't be part of your equation what soever or are you hedging your bets?
If we lose against the dogs or win but play poorly what excuses will you be using or what apologies will you be issuing?

Crush, you make some valid points but if l was to stop posting comments on this thread about Mary,
I'd have my forum membership revoked as being inactive!

# I hope the coach finds a way to use his whole bench.
# I hope he finds a way to drop non performing players ........... and promote the youngsters.
# Sincerely hope win do win the comp this year!

If the coach was to do the first two above, most the crew here would be satisfied, including me.

I’ve never been a massive fan of Mary but to talk about sacking the coach in Round 13 when we are joint comp leaders is absurd.

Let’s revisit after 26 rounds. If we’re not in the top 4 or god forbid miss the 8 altogether with this squad, I’ll happily join the Sack Mary brigade.

Because every time we win he is not to be seen or heard.

It’s always a ‘if’ we win a game - I don’t care who the coach is. In your mind it should be a certainty that we win every game, unfortunately (or fortunately depending which way you look at it) the competition is far too tight for there to be any certainties. Thankfully (or hopefully) our players don’t think the game is a certainty, otherwise we’ll no doubt be complacent and lose.

We struggle against the dogs at the best of times, that’s not just under Mary’s time as coach but for as long as I remember.

It might sound a bit harsh but just because people don’t praise or become euphoric about wins it doesn’t mean they are not happy (for many that is somewhat dependent on the style of the win),
They’re major concern is the losses and the nature thereof
Simply put winning can’t lose you the comp but losses due to stupidity, dumb coaching, bad selection, not properly preparing replacements, playing busted players etc etc etc certainly can lose you the comp as can ugly wins that provide warnings that are not heeded and TBH “you know who” has done that in spades since he has been coach
So some supporters choose to focus on what it is that can lose us the comp especially when we have the potential to actually win it
Mc Fookknuckle always emphasises everything about the wins and tries to brush over the losses with cliches and waffle like “we will learn from this” and “we weren’t up for it today” then the very same thing happens in the next game we lose. If he changed things there wouldn’t be nearly as much negativity but he changes nothing other than which foot he puts in his mouth.
The wins are great to get and are fun to watch but the losses are what cost you in the end, so their close scrutiny and analysis is warranted and the fact that we keep repeating the mistakes that caused them will therefore always encourage negative posts which in their own way are actually positive if people acted upon them.

None of the above can happen with this moron & it amazes me the benefit of the doubt he still gets from his mostly closet supporters on this forum. FMD
His coaching or ways of thinking ( I use the word very loosely here) have NOT shifted or improved.
Get ready for Doust to extend him just for spite?
Stubbornness defines this pri*k, who riles me no end, especially in his treatment of the juniors. He must've been one of those kids who sat at the table for hours with a mouthful of cold peas and mash because he'd refuse to eat them for his mum. We kids used to sit and watch one such cousin in amazement. He'd just never crack or waver, and his poor mum had to eventually fish them out of his mouth with her fingers. So when McFMD!!! finally sacked LOVECHILD after Rd 25? I went and got pissed because I thought some kind of indefinable spell had been broken.
Not so boys eh?
We sit and watch and write and writhe and wait for change - and just Lomax finally on the bench brought tears to my eyes.
Smoke & mirrors ha!
The only discernible change (shit it must've been hard for Mc No I Won't Bend To The Forum Or Anyone) in 2018 has been Hunt, who WAS ( contract condition?) allowed to play what was in front of him and won many games for us singlehandedly until injured or just pissed off with carrying the outside backs each week. How he must wish he had a Roberts, Lomax or Field to chase those grubbers & bombs?
Yeah I know Graham improves our LINESPEED spasmodically, but needs the captaincy for full authority - as I've said elsewhere. Our junior forwards just haven't been given enough onfield gametime with him for him to make a difference.
And yeah, well, LAM was playing for a contract, OK, but not a coaching tick.

Yeah OKB, good luck, but methinks our destiny this year began, and ends, with Hunt.
And the Maroons have faith in him too by the looks of it?

Get well Possm & get well Benny!

Guys this is all very simple if they don't make top 4 nothing less sack him . He has had plenty of time .

Linespeed made a valid point that Doust, as his last act before leaving, impressing a lasting impression upon us fans, may be to give McGregor an extension, whether deserves one or not.

It’s enough to make a grown man cry ......... in his beer!

FMD, don’t you think Stray Shooter can stand up for himself?
Of course he can and my post wasn't about OV nor was it to defend him.
I am simply curious how someone so "upbeat" wants to hedge his bets in a game V the Dogs.
It is also fair to ask someone who does rip it others who he prescribes as "negative" as to what he will have to say "if" we lose to the dogs.
If such a thing was to happen would you be ripping it up "you know who" or would you roll with the punches?

Genuine question- Do you choose to ignore the plentiful criticisms I and others make of Mary, or do you forget because it’s not the only thing we say ad nauseam?
I’m confident we’ll beat the dogs.
maybe we won’t - if we don’t I will make my judgement based on what I see and state as much.
Im also confident that if we mostly keep winning then obtuse will be a rare sighting here, and if we don’t then he’ll be here - but he won’t offer any cogent analysis of the game or players.
