I believe it is time for a new coach. McGregor did well to get them up for the two semis but his inability to manage the team through the state of origin period and after was terrible. His refusal to keep picking players out of form was frustrating also he doesnt seem to have confidence in the young stars coming through.
The board needs to act NOW.

With this year's result, he should finish his contract.

He seems he is unable to accept other feedback or advise. The problem with that, as it has been proven with his time as coach it all falls back onto him.

It's up to Mary for next year. Keep going with his way and succeed as I don't think many other NRL clubs would be interested in signing him.

Seeing he gets blamed for everything else, i am just waiting for the claim that Mary is the strawberry bandit.

Perhaps he donned a wig and asked sam burgess to post his dong?

Yes when people don’t listen or change, they have to own the outcome and are on their own. This is what Gus Gould is finding out at the moment. When the panthers keep failing, it will be a post-Gould era. But he’s better than than the previous mob.

This may be on other threads but if we sign Pereira and the new Fijian sensation does that mean no Corey Oates?

Best season for ages, squad on the up, lose to genuine premiership contenders in the finals in the 79th minute with a fatigued and half dead squad, Doust ousting, Not much to be squirming about- thanks in good part to captain Mary.

Then we will swap you for Seibold if you think Mary is the Shiz!

Seibold has refused numerous offers from that club ( at least 2 reported), one was made very early in the season and he said he’s waiting for the end of the year to consider 2020+

The difficulty for Souths is that they can’t really plan into the future. They can’t be sure of what players the coach wants to sign long term, make up of 2020 plus side. They don’t know how much money he wants and all of that. He’s on 250k now which is beer money for a top flight coach and he can earn, some say, 750k at Brisbane.

So I think the powers that be at Souths are resigned to losing him because he’s not quite on board for the future. They would like to keep him and they have offered big dollars but this indecision is not ideal and seibold would know he’s stuffing around with their planning.

I think we should be fair in assessing coaches, they can only do so much.

Mary’s relief after the loss was evident, he was living the moment. He’s a bit open book.

But I think he’s a good coach. He’s done ok.

Winning versus losing.
Week 2 vs week 4
We flunked, he flunked.
Losing 6 from our final 9 put the nail in our teams and Mary's coffin.

Did not make the top 4.
That's not doing ok.
Battered players?
Every team has them.

50% win rate past 3 yrs.
Says it all.

Rode high early and flopped late to miss 2 bites of the cherry.
Coach and yourself totally incapable of understanding what it is we missed out on as against what we achieved.
The loss to Souths shows how inept the coaching is as we had every chance to win the game and didn’t and it was the first game we lost after leading at half time.
Hunt has a shott at FG and has never kicked 1 in his entire career FMD give the moment to someone who could do the job and not feel the pressure namely Lomax.
Tactics, bench selection & usage in the last game all very poor.
You are obviously another club stooge and apologist.

Hypothetical. Which of the following two scenarios would you pick:

1. After finishing 7th in the regular season (including zero wins against a top 8 side since round 9), Dragons smash the Broncs in week 1 semis and fall just short in week 2 but play their hearts out, securing Mary's coaching contract for 2019 and possibly beyond; or
2. After finishing 7th in the regular season (including zero wins against a top 8 side since round 9), Dragons lose to Broncs in week 1 of semis 48-6, pouring enormous pressure on Mary as coach and forcing a 'legitimate' performance review on coaching staff.

Lucky you clipped rudolfs antler and missed The big guy last year.

Pound for pound, the best dragons season since the tigers premiership.

I just can’t see why these guys whinge on and on about making the finals and then nearly stealing a prelim finals game from side full of superstars.

A fair chunk of the season leading the comp.

An awesome player like graham signs on.

Jp is a revelation.

A good portion of the saints team are average.

They play their backsides off, coached well and some of the fans carry on like they came last.

Ungrateful lot, some of us here.

Man up for Mary.
