Yes Smurf, no matter what criteria you look at with this 'coach' it is impossible to find even one trace of a positive outcome for the team in 6 years that can be linked to any input from him. He is consistently out-coached by just about any other coach in the comp as far as tactics and strategy. The 'power game' and an apparently punishing off season fitness program worked briefly in early rounds when opposing sides were still on an upward fitness curve and astute coaches like Bellamy and Robinson had their sides peaking at the sharp end of the season.Take 3
So too do supporters of the Red V. If someone can categorically inform me of exactly what has happened at St George-Illawarra in the back half of the 2019 season I would be very appreciative. Early on, things actually looked quite promising.
The Dragons managed four wins from their first six matches, beat the Broncos, Sea Eagles, Knights and creamed the Bulldogs 40-4 at Jubilee Stadium. Paul McGregor had his contract extended and semi-finals appeared likely with the team sitting just two competition points from the top of the NRL ladder.
From that point on, and really let this statistic sink in, the Dragons have won just three matches from their next 16; those wins came against the Bulldogs, Cowboys and Titans, certainly nothing to write home about.
McGregor will coach again in 2020 and one must wonder how that is the case after six years in the job and a success rate of just 47 per cent. In anyone’s language, that is not a compelling case to retain a coach, particularly one that has never had the Dragons on a consistent upward trajectory.
We can only hopeYes Smurf, no matter what criteria you look at with this 'coach' it is impossible to find even one trace of a positive outcome for the team in 6 years that can be linked to any input from him. Attacking structures have been commented on by others here with better knowledge than me but suffice to say they seem designed to bore the opposition to death. Ditto with selections, bench and player development. The only bright spots have been when the players have tossed out the rigid game plan and gone rogue (Broncos semi last year).
The 'Hunt Factor'? A good footballer with a solid running game, but not a 'general' you can build a winning team around a la Thurston, DCE, etc.You could argue he has taken up a big chunk of the salary cap that could have been spent on a couple of top back line players outside a good team half. Seems to have mind issues when he comes up against adversity.
The forwards: again, enough has been said here, State of Origin etc. Joey Johns has commented that they seem tired and slow in recent matches. Can you blame Origin forever? Roosters, Storm etc have been resting players in recent games.
The key question is how long can Brian Johnston and the board keep up their blind loyalty to this 'coach'? Apparently sponsors are beginning to ask questions. Next it could be player agents-look what happened to Nathan Brown.
Graham’s pro-Mary outburst is making waves over at out west tigers forum.
He would do better to put his concerns into the deficiencies of his current game.
We need to buy him a strawberry milkshake.
You have repeated yourself on a couple of items there but your points in a roundabout way a validMc Gregor overall has a winning success ratio of 47% which is a fail and his current success
ratio for 2019 is 32% and the Club will finish
fifteenth out of sixteen teams. The coach of the Titans and the Knights have been sacked this year however McGregor has avoided the axe. What strategies have been put in place to
address the ineptitude displayed over the past six years as follows:-
1. Highly deficient game plans.
2. Player selections irrespective of current form.
3. Persistence with journeyman players over promising and improving pathways players.
4. Selection of players out of position.
5. Failure to recruit and develop competent and
non error prone backline players.
6. Inability to devise innovative game plans to
defeat/prevail over opposing teams.
7. Repeat selection of incompetent players who regularly lose the team games.
8. Inability to raise the team out of form and skills slumps.
9. Indisceet and/or ineffective use of the bench.
10. Failure to adequately replace representative players especially when the Club lets them leave with short or no notice even when contracted.

oh i would not go that far but the old Africanl Lion safari residential land development between there and Warragamba would help...maybeWell the things you learn on a blog site. Sounds like Silverdale is coming on in leaps and bounds, unlike a certain League club we all know and support.
