Kallum Watkins on his way home to be with Dad (Hope all works out for his family) - Rapana coming back from Japan and looking for a club ....

Once again all the best to the Watkins family.

I have no idea why I put this on Sack Man's thread - stir crazy
I think Rapana will go straight back to the Raiders...post June 30?...or they only released him for a short time which the NRL approved?..that is what i thought anyway.
Please correct me if I am wrong there

It was Tyson or the failed coach

That was a really, really, simple decision for sensible people with an eye to the future to make Andrew
....but alas, you came up short again

Keeping Waterboy for another day makes no sense at all

- as you lose more money every day he sucks the life & soul out of our Club

... and delay renewal and the date of our next title

With Waterboy we’re in perpetual quicksand

I keep coming back ti the point of why employ Flannagan if there wasn't any vision for the future (yeah, i know vision and the Dragons heirachy are a mile apart).
Although Gould 'suggested' an experienced mentor would help Mc85, there were probably more credentialed, out-of-work coaches out there, that could have easily been approached to assist ("Hook" and 'Tooves' to name a few). We, however, opted for a coach, serving a 2yr ban and with a multitude of restructions on him, and add to this we also opt for his former assistant from the Sharks, strange!
I find it no co-incidence that his (Flanno) 2yr ban coincided with Mc85's cotract completion. Given the less than impressive start to the season, favoured players unwanted by other clubs and the wanting out of arguably one of our best players, I feel has accelerated the need to replace Mc85. Enter the rumours of us approaching Bennett. Why Bennett? And why would Bennett want to come here (again)?
I think there are 2 possible scenarios in play here:

1. Bennett comes in and coaches for 2021, then transituons to a GM/Head of Football type role, overseeing the whole football operation. Flannagan appointed coach in 2022.
2. Appoint Bennett directly as GM/Head of Football, lobby the NRL to overturn Flannagans ban so he can become head coach in 2021 with the privoso that everything has to go through Bennett.

Of course there is a 3rd option which removes Flannagan altogether, where Bennett comes in for 2021 and then Young takes the reigns in 2022. Bennett moved to GM as stated above.
Personaly, i think they cannot wait for the 3rd option. Too much damage has already heen done and extending that time would only create further heartbreak for our Club and would basically set Young up to fail (no matter how good a coach he could be) and we are back to where we are today in a very short period of time.

Option 2 is my preference atm. Unless a 'real' coach becomes available in a very shirt period of time, which I highly doubt. Shaun Wane maybe, but thats about it.

The over-riding point here is that the quicker Mc85 is removed, the quicker our Club can start to breathe (fire) again.

I keep hearing how everyone is 100% behind Mary , what a lot of crap and if they are , they all paid out , or Mary has something on them ...... For the life of me how can they all be supporting a coach that has records for all the wrong reasons , a coach that has won 4 games out of 24 ....... The while club reeks of looking after each other that's why I'm not confident of our new CEO , hand pick by the Boys Club ...

I agree. But I believe Bennett is not coming as that is media hype creating a story by whoever.
As you said why would he...why do we go to a 70 year old now.
Because of this year Flanno will get told the the gig is his in 2022 later this year if not already (if he wants it)
McGregor gone by 2021 (paid out) with caretaker or asst to run the coaching (officially) with Flanno as sidekick in 2021...assistant of course but Flanno starts building for his 2022 start compiling his own staff when ban over.
Who knows he may get his ban lifted if Greenbum gets the flick and the apply via the commission and / or Vlandys. Funnier things have happened in RL

The greatest feeling as a Dragons fan since 1979 was without doubt the 2010 premiership.

BUT the second greatest feeling as a Dragons fan will be the sacking of McWrekor. For me it'll be like winning a premiership seeing the smugness, arrogance and sheer incompetence no where near this ONCE great club.

Can you believe Waterboy’s mate Andrew?:

“We certainly don’t have a lot to be down in the mouth about in terms of Mary’s performance with the team,” he said.”

What planet does he live on?

Oh yeah, and how’s it going with the ‘international branding’ of the Dragons with your Waterboy as your garbled frontman?

Yep, Greentberg gone, Vlandy to show compassion and reduce Flannos ban.

Politis to scream blue murder cos he should of have first call on the decision.

McGregor to walk away filthy for not being allowed more time to arrange ‘his team’, who were only 455,700 minutes away from the next GF.

The new CEO will be still waiting to have his first news conference before being paid out in his retirement.

Dean Young, on the advise to the board from his father Craig, will be appointed Co-Coach with Flanagan.

Wayne Bennett will be appointed Co-Director of Football, along with Phil Gould, who will present the club with a new 25 year plan.

The board will be expanded to include the whole Gordon family and family tree dating back as far as 1893.

Kogarah Oval will be turned into a museum for fans to reminisce about the good old days when we use to win games at home.

More Updates to follow .......

I agree that the rumour of Bennett coming to the Dragons is a red herring. Why would he? He still has a contract for 2021 with the Bunnies and an impressive team there. Whilst he knows that Jason Demetriou will take over in 2022, Bennett has a job to complete and as a result I cannot see him coming to us. He came and conquered for us but no more.

I think that either the club will announce that Flanagan will be our coach sometime later this year for 2022 and that he would have plenty of time to work out who he needs for his squad. Then again, if by any chance V'Landys is agreeable to the reduction of Flanagan's ban, then who knows Flanagan could come in earlier than 2022? The NRL might also have a new CEO who might be sympathetic as well, again, who knows? We can all speculate as much we like and the end result will be the swan song of the one and only Mary McCannotWIN.

In hindsight, l believe we have been too tough on McGregor, for he can be considered ahead of his time.

Last season alone, McGregors attacking game plan employed ‘social distancing’ from all opposing try lines and implemented measures to reduce fans congregating at local grounds.

He should be applauded for his actions in quarantining quality upcoming players who were neither injured or required, thus allowing lessor players to fill bench positions, much to the dismay of the plastic fans.

Yesiree Bob, l won’t be opposing any future contract upgrades to this beleaguered coach.

Talk about getting ahead of yourself.

And ya gotta laugh
...here’s Andrew Gordon in April 2019, after extending his Waterboy:

“We look forward to the remainder of the year now that his position has been locked in," Gordon said.

"Paul has indeed had a long history with the club as both a player and now as coach. His values positively represent ours as a club. The board and I are very proud to have him continue as Dragons coach."

... and he’s won 4/22 games since LOL

Agree Gomarchin , it will be a great day for all when he finally receives the silver bullet as that could be impetus needed to get the Dragons on the road to respectability once again.

Unless V’landys reduces Flanno’s ban to 2021 I honestly think we’re stuck with the muppet and there will be no sacking/payout handshake. The club clearly does not give a fu** about the supporters or the dip :poop: would have been dismissed last year. He won’t walk, they won’t pull the trigger so we’re all screwed unless the new golden greek pulls some strings and cuts Flanno’s ban by 12 months :fingers_crossed_tone1::fingers_crossed_tone1::fingers_crossed_tone1::fingers_crossed_tone1:That is our only hope now that Greenberg is goneski
