You, dickhead, are an absolute disgrace to rugby league. You don't deserve to ref another game. Clearly you are incompetent as exhibited by your inability to explain decisions and control the game, though you did manage to turn the tide. I would have had more fun almost by watching the Yawnion rubbish than a game reffed by you. If I EVER see YOU in the street, I'll make sure my fist is the last thing you see for the rest of your life, if you survive.

Disgraceful. He doesn't belong in NRL. Full stop. I thought the Nth-Qld - Canberra game showed how bad a referee he is. But tonight was a new low.

I question I have is did the players deserve the send offs?

Did Peachey mouth off too much? I mean when Tallis was sent in origin for mouthing off people said is was justified, when Tallis got binned against the Knights for it, people said it was justified. The only difference from what I can gather is when Tallis was binned against the Knights he didn't continue, Peachey did.

Was the high tackle a send off offence?

Peachey def deserved to go off - he was mouthing off all game, swinging punches and generally being a dickhead

Hayne was in a tough situation. The sharks players were acting like royal dicks the whole game and its hard to blame him for losing his patience. Some of those sharks players are on a major ego trip

The send off on Newton was perhaps the only questionable call

Cheers,
Moffo

the best bit was hearing gary freeman cry all night

i hate that dickhead

hayne's second half problems came cos he didn't take control of the game in the first half. he put himself in the tough situation. refs need to learn they must apply the rules of the game properly and consistently right from the kickoff

letting the sharks get away with everything in the last 20 minutes was a complete joke. they weren't even close to standing onside

it was such a joke at the end. almost as bad as watching union

You've got to be kidding. Peachey is a gentlemen and does NOT throw unwarranted punches. It was an Eels player who instigated that fight.

He wasn't even backchatting Hayne. Quite simply; it was Hayne's incompetence and disgraceful refereeing that caused the situation. He couldn't answer Peachey's questions, because Peach was spot on with them. Newton wouldn't have been sent off in normal circumstances but Hayne was just emotional when he had to make the decision. NOBODY was onside all match either.

Quite clearly Moffo, you've got no idea whatsoever.

come off it, the commentators on the radio, said that he called the ref a cheat, plus the "f" word came out in the conversation as well, (i heard that through the microphone) that's enough to be sent off, as for the send off of Newton, he should have been put on report and that other young bloke nearer to the end of the game, number 14???, SHOULD have been sent off for his high shot - it was a shocker. As for Haynes general performance, I only saw the last 20 minutes on tele and he was letting Cronulla get away with murder, especially in the 10 metre area and even said to a Cronulla player that he was giving them some leeway when a touchie reported him for mouthing off in the ingoal. I will hve to watch the enire game on Monday on Fox to ge the full picture.

Why be penalised for telling the truth? It's a virtue promoted since birth

Seriously though, I didn't see him say that. I agree about Williams and Newton, but quite clearly Hayne was embarrassed by his bloopers and was trying to "make up".

As Gary Freeman said, a side can't be that bad to only get what, 3 penalties in an entire match.

Gary Freeman is a total "f" wit and as the other commentator said, all this coming from one of the dodgiest blokes to ever lace on a boot
and as for the penalty count, as I said I will ave to see the match before I comment, but for te bit I did see, he could have tripled the count quite easily - Gary Freeman also made mention of that as well

I don't like Cronulla or the Eels but i have to say that Hayne was an absolute disgrace to RL last night. At least it was in a match where both teams have not a lot left to play for - the guy has to be gone for the season. What if he decided to get a power trip in a finals game - he'd cost one team their whole season. I've always said he was the worst ref in the game - this just proved it. Send him for a long vacation. It would probably be in his safety interests to do so anyway - if I were him I wouldn't want Sharks fans to know where I was going to be every weekend for the next month

It's pretty interesting that Nutley got sent off for his high tackle that wasn't as bad as Cayless' who didn't get sent off

Consistantly between other referees is never going to happen, but I would like to see some consistancy in the decisions that one referee makes.

I think Peach should have got sent off but young Newton probabaly not.

I have to say that regardless of all the problems with the referee, the Sharks really lost the plot last night.

They started acting like an immature bunch of 10 year olds, taking field goal shots 50 behind, going for the head on all their tackles, backchatting to try and get sent off it was absolutely disgraceful.

What makes it even worse is that the send-offs seemed to be the right decision. I'm not disputing that Hayne had a very very bad match, but one of his let-downs was probably not following through with the hard stance he took early in the second half. He could have easily sent more from the field from both sides if he was being consistent.

But while it is clear Hayne lost control of the match, the Sharks last night showed themselves to be nothing more than a bunch of children parading as men who would rather throw a tantrum when things don't go their way then try and fight back. Pathetic.

Well at least Hayne has given Chris Anderson the perfect excuse to deflect criticism of himself.

I'm sure Ando won't be reminding anyone that this was the biggest loss in the history of the Sharks.

74-4... says it all.

Phil Bailey must be stupid or deaf. Watching him on the Sunday Footy Show saying Hayne sent Peachy off for waving his arms is far from the truth. He called Hayne a f**king cheat and was rightfully sent.
