Hehehe, remember back in 2009 i think it was, when Kidley was first in line for the NSW halfback spot?!?!?

I think that was i was ever happy to see a Knight injured...

With the new concussion rules, am I right in assuming that Gidley can't play this week?

Let's get it going guys. Facebook, Twitter, the herald, the tele...

If enough people jump on board then surely the knights have to take notice and realise just what a genius Kurt really is.

#sackgidley

But where will the knights players get all their Party Goods?? #ring_gids :sarcasm:

I would bet my left nut that Gidley will be selected for game 1.

I honestly think he will be as well. I fully expect Mullen to be selected so I'd say Gids' goal kicking ability along with Snozza's geniused selection policy will see him there for game 1.

I don't agree with it but I'm sure it'll happen.

It's so depressing knowing that we have Clydesdale who is an 80 min player being f**ked by Shitley. Change just ONE player and the Knights have a better team, just ONE!

I'm done putting myself through the anxiety til the blot is removed from the Knights.

You are all kidding.

The coach and CEO have shown zero interest in holding him accountable.

He is there as long as he wants, adding polish to our team.

I can't take it any more. We win without him tonight. His biggest contribution was getting the f**k out of the way when Clydsdale came on.

I'd be pissed if I was the playing group by now, to be honest. I couldn't cop being on the same team as him, even if he made a million tackles a match.

F### it. We need change. We have no time to play politics and just accept paying overs is the way it is and always will be. Get the players on board and then worry about the coach. If Wayne goes it has to be Neil Henry for mine. Rick Stone is not going to attract a solitary big name signing. We need a name coach. Tim Sheens is the other option. Newcastle fans in general do not do or say shit. They just whinge. No marching in the streets. No threatening to burn the offices down. Just all talk and no substance. We should throw fat arse into the harbour and tell him to swim in the direction of his non existent coal loader.

I don't even think it's a matter of personnel to be honest, yes we do need some forwards but we don't need superstar ones, look at Manly's pack, Lawrence, Starling, Lui, Horo, etc were all nobodies when they signed for Manly, it's all about the structure and attitude of the team. Even though we scored 3 tries tonight, none of them were as a result of good ball movement or a set move, in fact we were very one out in the red zone, far too many settlers and far too many times we gave the ball to Gagai expecting him to get past one of the best defensive centres in the game.
I think Cuthbertson is a priority re-signing for us, he's been our best forward this year by quite a margin, we obviously need 3 props at the very least, don't have to be big names, just blokes with abit of size and who actually play prop. I'd personally try to put some size on Rochow and turn him into a middle forward and have Tapine on that left edge. I'd love to f**k Gidley off altogether but realistically that won't happen.

My pack for next year would be:
Snowden (get him slimmed down, needs to lift work rate and play more minutes)
Clydesdale
New signing
Scott
Tapine
Cuthbertson

Gidley (ideally Daniel Levi)
Sims
Rochow
New signing

Agree with your side aqua. A few weeks ago I was panicking thinking we needed a heap of star props and a classy edge back rower and a new lock to replace Smith (who will probably retire) to fix the problem but I don't think we do. Cuthbo is doing a sensational job at lock and he needs to be our main priority to keep. He always does his job, he's so versitle and he can consistently throw the offloads that most of the others can't.

I also think Tapine will be able to handle starting in the back row on the edge before too long. The kid has just got it. Coming straight from the NYC into a depleted firstgrade forward pack against a tough pack like Manly's is a huge ask but he didn't look out of place at all. Wait until he starts feeling more comfortable there and watch out. Even if he takes a bit longer to cement a starting position Rochow can handle it. I know Scott and Cuthbo are 29 now but we have some more back rowers just where Tapine came from that i think will also be ready to make the step up in the next season or two. Sims is clearly not an edge back rower. He has front row written all over him so let him keep doing his impact role off the bench until he's ready for a starting spot.

We need one proven and dependable starting front rower and we really need to do whatever we can to get Hannant here. He'd be perfect. Then we need to chase a specialist impact prop to come off the bench. Doesn't have to be a huge name or a star, just someone that's good in that role. And that's all we really need IMO baring a couple more props for depth as well obviously. I think Mase might stick around for another season given we won't do anything this year so I wouldn't mind keeping him in the squad because the young blokes seem to really respond to him and just bringing him in off the bench in the games we need someone. Better him than Newton.
