That's what I was thinking.

So if Spags was ousted in 2013, 2 years after is 2015 or last year when we held elections, so fresh elections aren't due till next year, 2017.
Except... that we've reportedly agreed to the NRL governance changes that will move us to a cycle of some directors to be elected elected/appointed annually. Maybe that starts in some way this year? Possibly expanded number of Directors (so that independent Directors can be phased in), meaning elections for some Directors to the Board in May?

I am no expert but listening to others it sounds like there will eventually be a no confidence vote for the current board at the next AGM which is in April or May? So more articles will keep coming trashing the board or previous boards. I even heard Hadley today say Fitzy should be interim CEO to fix this mess. So there is no doubt a major agenda where it ends who knows.
Ah... well that would explain the timing of this leaks/media/agenda.

If I was in a position to sponsor a player I sure as hell would like something in return. Invites to corporate box seats for example would make me feel damn fine and would possibly encourage me to sponsor more players in the future. If I had the money, that is.

I took out a home loan and sponsored Brett Finch in 2009. I'll be paying it off for the next 18 years but what a season! His club gave me tickets to the grand final. Fui scored right in front of me!

They have f**king made us wait a long time to be in the finals again.

This bullshit in the papers every year leading up to the AGM and elections gets tired very quickly. Why is there never any of this when other clubs have their elections? Maybe private ownership would be better - then none of these f**kwits would get any oxygen at all as their opinions would be treated with the contempt they deserve.

All I want is the team to be winning on-field - the rest can f**k off.

I reckon private ownership is always more effective.

Well thats the whole point - you are at the mercy of the owner ... he loses interest (or money) you go to poo

I don't think anyone buys a sports team to make money from it, though I suppose a team owned by a drinking/gambling club is more likely to keep tipping cash in.
