F**k you carry on. We're not over the cap for this year.
lol we've already exhausted our 2nd tier cap, who knows what these clowns are up too. Keep making excuses it's the only thing the club has been consistent in in the last 29 years.

Gotta feel sorry for the current board and BA!

They have inherited a complete mess, thanks to previous boards and coaches.
The funny things is people still have the guts to parade around supporting these grubs.

Dave Smith said countless times that Sharpy is already onto cleaning all this up, clearly a sign of a guy that knows what he is doing and trying to get the club back to where it should be.

Fmd get the facts right before you start your daily whinge!

Even Dave Smith has said we are under the cap for this and next year.
Gee running late, thought you would have been on hours ago defending the club no matter what. Keep telling us how great things are going and the people in charge have a clue what they are doing.

We will somehow find a way to be over the cap by something stupid and start 2016 -4 and people will still find excuses and tell us all how good things are  Go parra!!!

No, that's not what they said. Smith just wants an independent bean counter to have a look at the books.

Smith said however, that we're good for 2015. So it's about satisfying the NRL that we now have systems in pace which avoids situations like paying players for years after they leave and Spags giving Fui $15k for a $3k car.

The bigger concern in my mind is that it happened in the first place, and we are now over half a million in fines worse off.
We came last the two seasons before this happened, and we're coming last now.
Gloss it over all you like.
The place is Romper Room at its finest.

The NRL release - link here http://www.nrl.com/eels-fined-for-salary-cap-breaches/tabid/10874/newsid/86425/default.aspx

Says, and I quote "The club must also ensure it does not breach the salary cap rules before 29 February 2016."

I would presume that we have already reached the 2nd tier cap, because the reason Faraimo wasn't picked was because of "2nd tier compliance issues".

So basically I'd forget about any new players getting a run if they haven't already done so.

I'd also suggest that Sandow and Paulo will return, possibly as early as this weekend.

Who in the starting 17 this week would you say is on 2nd tier deals?

I'd have no idea, it would be easier to work out if you had to advise who your top 25 were, but the NRL has obviously already told us that we cannot use Faraimo this week, as we would not be compliant with the 2nd tier cap.

I'm guessing we will be talking to the NRL weekly for the remainder of the season about who we can pick each week then.

From the little I know, the cap was in. Mega mess from deals done prior to the current admin, players were released and promised ongoing payments, until Seward was appointed there was a rumour that the 2 previous coaches gave cap admin to an office girl. They only were concerned with the next season, and players( like Lomo) were therefore on massive back ended deals to ensure the near term was OK
Sounds a bit like Des at the Beagles
. I think the current admin have tried to make us aware that there were issues that needed time to resolve. Doubt we need to go off like headless chooks, this was in s sense what was predicted

Surely it is the ALP's fault. Shorten? Bowen? Julia?

I would say most of not all the 17 would be in the top 25 for this weeks line up.
For what it's worth I would have Folau ahead of Farimo anyway.

You're probably right. If we have reached the limit we can't play new 2nd tier players without special permission. If we suffered a major run of injuries we may be given permission to play them. Or, if we offload a 1st tier player mid-season, that may shift an existing 2nd tier player up to the 1st tier, and once more free up space.

So we're copping 4 points then ?

The requirement of an independent review is theoretically the best thing in this news. But.....I dread the poor bastards who have to try to conduct it without interference from every f**ker who has an axe to grind. Hopefully they can produce something that people are happy to accept was prepared without reference to personalities/ politics, but given people's propensity to carry on like of bunch of old women (I apologise to old women) I'm not holding my breath.

I was a board member of a large organisation that had a comprehensive independent governance review about 10 years ago. Within 12 months, the chairman had managed to get the organisation to hire himself as the CEO. He's still in the job making a f**kwit of himself.
