Just heard Ric on 2SER.....good work mate......the word is spreading, action must surely soon follow.

Just a question...he sounded very definite that the stands WILL be coming down.
When?

Insaneo, They were supposed to come down before this match but a guy had a heart attack during the council meeting so the meeting ended and the issue of the stands was left on the agenda unattended to.

After speaking to David Trodden at Leichhardt today it appears they might stay up for the rest of the year as some support poles have been put in place. This doesn't mean anyone can sit there though. They will come down but we don't know when.

Gobbs, the people trying to turn this into a Wests V Balmain thing are the ones who don't understand what this is about. We will continue to correct them.

I called up 2GB after hearing an ill-informed email from a Magpies supporter. We are not going to be side-tracked and open a separate totally unrelated can of worms.

Our goal is to ensure the Wests Tigers and Balmain Tigers can host rugby league games at Leichhardt Oval. Simple as that.

We started handing out petitions today and had a great response from those we spoke to. We had Manly, Penrith and even Souths supporters there who all happily signed the petitions and wished us luck. Most of them also commented on how important it is to keep the ground going.

Tomorrow you won't be able to miss us so please sign a petition. The website is much improved now so check it out if you're interested.

looking forward to helping out tomorrow sincas. ;-)

A lot of hard work has been done by Ric, Rif and sincas for this to happen and for this they should be commended.

Lets just keep this baby going until we get the result we are after.

Optimism is the key to success

Well done to all involved. I will not bother with the usual comments on this, as Balmain will be the main benefactor from an improved Leichhardt Oval. All you need to do now is save Campbelltown from its concrete cancer and you will be the heros of the JV.......

With the signatures that Brook/MT have plus the ones that have been signed up at Tigers, we reckon we have more than 1000 signatures already. We need at least 10,000 maye 20,000. So there is lots more to be done. There are three more games coming up at Leichhardt, plus Premier League games. So we are off to a great start.

But if you can take petitions and get signatures please email us and we will send them out to you. Once people have signed them they can mail them back post free.

Several supporters at the game came and took handfuls for their workplaces, family or clubs - so if you can do that, please dont hold back.

There is also a table in the foyer at Tigers with a box for signed petitions.

Thanks to everybody who helped yesterday.

Thanks for your support mate but, please, please, please keep the Cambo comments out of it. We had Wests supporters handing out petitions for us and we in no way are anti Cambo.. It clouds the issues and causes devision of fans that are putting in for us. I repect your right to an opinion mate just please don't associate it with the "Stop the Rot" campaign... I know you love your Tiges mate and have passion money can't buy and I respect that.... Onwards and upwards....

Also folks, I've posted on the other teams forums asking for support. Please try not to stir them up or take the bait if they give it to you (I know, I know I have been one of the worst in the past when it comes to the Bunnies). For the most part they've been very supportive and downloading the petition and signing it.. Let the friendly banter continue but pls no trawling..
Thanks, just call me the "Black Pot"...... We all have our redemptions.....

One unsung hero yesterday was Noah. Everyone who helped out was great but I saw Noah and his clipboard working the hill right up until first grade kick off and that was a sensational effort. Ric and Unit also went right up until kick off and the effort was certainly noticed.

Thanks to everyone who helped. There is plenty more to do. We will be in touch, you can be sure of that.

To present to Govt in front of the media to try and get funding assistance.

There is also a development plan being organised by the Council and Balmain Tigers. The petition is to back that up as well.

I'm taking 10 to uni today - just a thought, would it be possible to allow more than 5 sigs top each petition, and would it be possible to have an online petition? I use other forums, as I guess a lot of people do, and they would sign it online for sure. I've asked them to print and post it, I just think if it was online, you would get more signatures.

Hi Suzie,

We will happily send you out as many petitions as you need. We have thousands printed. Just drop me an email and we'll sort it out.

We are looking at an online petition but there is a school of thought that the written hard copy ones hold more weight. We are meeting to discuss this type of thing during the week.

We have had a few people email us and ask for bundles to be sent out. If anyone else knows a place they can distribute them from, please let us know and we will ship them out to you. Such places include your uni, work, school, business, community group, RSL, etc etc.

Have you contacted media outlets to let them know of the website ? eg talkback shows etc. This would make more people aware of the petition.

Keep up the good work guys.

Why not do what R2k did
they put these questions out to fans asking about what improvements could be made, this way they can get a first hand view on what needs to be done,,
for example R2k asked about whether they should have lights...
whether bucket seats should replace the old seats at the bottom of the hill etc....

i support what you guys are doing just as i did with Kogarah and all the best and R2k got the questions put on rleague.com...
maybe have a free ticket offer for the person with best suggestions
anyways good luck
i just subscribed to your mailing list ;-)
