Well, you may have heard various commentary from abroad and from here as to the best methodology, but the point is, have you heard any of it from our government? If you have, can you point me to it?

What do they know, that they can only tell us? They haven't told us virtually anything.

When the PM was directly asked for the modelling behind his decision making, he evaded the question. Though he had time to scold people for hoarding supplies. What explanation do you have for this?
I personally don’t think getting a range of deaths out there (eg 2,000 - 300,000) is particularly helpful at this point...and I imagine the range is huge with so many unknowns.

I do know that hoarding supplies is a dick move though and happy he scolded those that did.

Well, the government is acting on a "range", or they are acting without any direction at all, and I'd prefer to think it is the first one. When the decisions are the most important that may ever be made, they need to act with clarity.

If Shorten responded to his costings questions with "there is a range of costs, it is huge with many unknowns so it is not helpful to discuss it" you would be all over him for that.

Hoarding supplies is a d**k move. But if our PM is so pressed for time he doesn't need to waste it telling the 1% who don't know how to act, to pull their heads in.

If the death figures are too hard to show us (which is rubbish, as NZ did theirs), they can at least explain the research papers guiding their strategy, and...what their strategy actually is.

Obama was a cool dude
He got f**k all done too apparently.

I loved how she had a whinge about scomo sending criminal kiwi scum back to NZ.
f**kers were too lazy to become Australian citizens and then go out bashing people.
Back you go merkin.

So is your point that Adern was wrong to make this diplomatic complaint, so therefore even though NZ doesn't have bad crime, and a bad economy like you suggested, people are still silly to "adore" her? And Obama too?

Because it is hard to follow your trail of thought here. Or are you just chatting about Adern now, even though you are apolitical apparently and don't take sides?

I imagine they’re more focused on their own response than satisfying armchair epidemiologists and I’m ok with that. They’ve presumably made the call that it is not helpful at this time to throw around vast ranges based on very incomplete data.

I’m not suggesting you need to like that approach, but it’s the one they’ve taken, one that labor hasn’t broken ranks on by the way, and I’m ok with it.

Seems pretty silly deporting someone who has been here since one month old.

But if Mr Christian (the religion of forgiveness) wants to beat his chest over it then great.

astounding hypocrisy. He shouldn’t call himself a Christian. It’s a flat out lie and false advertising.

anyway. This also involves people who have committed crime well in the past and have established an honest productive life here too.

When the PM was directly asked for the modelling behind his decision making, he evaded the question. Though he had time to scold people for hoarding supplies. What explanation do you have for this?

Every time he has been making announcements, he has had Brendan Murphy the country's leading medico, his 2IC Kelly beside him providing further medical advice and the reasoning, and backing ScoiMo up.He has had a leading woman who looks after people with anxiety issues for the retrenched.

Indiviidual state premiers have had their additional press conferences with respective medical experts.
Self isolation, washing hands regularly,1 1/2 metres apart, overseas passengers direct to hotels for isolation for 14 days trying to get the contagion curve to ease off the sharp growth by isolation, planning to get people out of South America, trying to get at least 8 cruise ships to go back to home ports.
The Govt called it a pandemic two weeks before WHO.

Any idiot hoarding needed scolding. You want ScoMo to applaud their efforts?

There are Govt apps spelling it out.

Methodology varies from state to state ,country to country. We have hot spots in Bondi and Mosman. We have had 300 people what the virus from the Ruby Princess.

Every country has had and is having issues, because they are dealing with an unknown that kills the elderly ,and even the young. I repeat one more time an UNKNOWN.The effects and issues change each day.Modelling smodelling,,the aim is ti get the curve levelling off. They are well aware if people ignore isolation, the curve will leap high.

,In between all this, the Govt is trying to ensure people have some income to keep them going for 6 months.I mean they have so much extra time on their hands.
They are now pursuing those people who are smuggling medical goods to China

My young early teen grandson is fully aware of what to do, and is amazed some adults find it confusing. And calls the backpackers who continue to mix in numbers in Bondi d*ckheads.

if you know better than the medical experts for both Fed and state Govt in the recommendations, then spell out what are your plans.

The Labor mob seem to be reasonably happy with what is being done and planned. So do many employment ,labour groups, charities, employees,If you can't find anything that satisfies your requirements, you are not in the majority by a long shot.

Mate this is not the seasonal flu ,you can model as much as you like.Time is far better spent for people to get off their a*ses and complying with Govt requirements.

Your grandson shouldn’t be calling people those names if he wants to become a civil liberal voter.

he speaks like a Labor dope.

And they’re welcome to ship our crims back to us.

Funnily enough, if they’ve been here since a month old then they’ve learned it from our disgusting culture.

Stealing land from aboriginals and then teaching immigrant kids how to crim. The Aussie convict way.

You bought her into it....telling us how good she is at this Coronavirus thing.
She let that f**king ship full of infected pricks leave NZ for here.
Pfft

Kiwis don’t rate her much anymore.
In fact if you speak to kiwis they’ll tell you she made a lot of promises then broke em all.

At least scomo holds up a piece of coal and f**king means it when he says he is gonna keep mining the shit.

You are evading the point and shifting the burden of proof.

It is not up to me to explain Australia's strategy.

It was claimed the PM didn't have time to outline our strategy. I answered by saying if he has time to scold hoarders he has time to outline a strategy. To take that as meaning I applaud hoarders is just silly, and missing the point.

If the PM has had the Chief Medical Officer or Deputy by his side and doesn't wish to outline the strategy himself, they can do it. Washing hands and isolation are not a strategy. They are steps within a strategy, that has not been made clear. Reducing the spread of the disease is an aspiration, not a strategy.

You can repeat the word unknown as much as you like. All strategy relies on unknowns, until we invent time travel at least. If they have some idea of what they are doing they must have some idea of why they are doing it, but they are not sharing. Not the PM, or the Chief or Deputy Chief, the premiers, or the opposition.

You say the idea is to flatten the curve. How do you know this? Because you saw a meme? What is the government's goal in flattening the curve? Have they said, because I can't find it anywhere.

They will have goals and models, based on the research (hopefully, otherwise we really are f****d). They have flu pandemic response papers that they use models and prior research for, ready to implement a flu pandemic strategy. Even though the future of flu values is...unknown.

NZ published one model that was informing their decision making, with help from Australian epidemiologists, despite there being...unknowns in NZ too.

Which government app spells out the strategy? Sure, things are fluid. Do you think government strategy doesn't exist and they just react to each day as it comes?

You are bending over backwards to excuse their lack of communication.

We have not gone into lock down early, like so many other nations did. Did our PM just flip a coin to decide this? Did the Chief Medical Officer? Did they just say, we will wash hands a lot and things will be right?

I'd hope the government requirements from all the epidemiologists they employ, would be to both get off their a*ses and use research to formulate a plan. What is that plan? Why are you so happy to be kept in the dark about the single biggest issue we have faced since WW2?
