Is that per capita?
Nu it's Per suasdion.
The close to midnight "view" and tipping point theory have been expressed by many climatology experts..
The loud people would be encouraged by those with vested interests , naive to think otherwise Oh the mining sector and Businesses in trouble would have vested interests? Go figure!
The 2 billion Climate Solutions fund ? Thatll go far! Whats that? about 70 dollars PER CAPITA ?Suppose they could restart Holden and start making Electric cars for that ? Pardon my skepticism. BTW Corolla Hybrids (charge under braking too) Priced same as Petrol. substantial savings on fuel.
Theres lots of jobs in renewable energy For instance all the Chinese employed making solar panels .Just we havent been worried about transitioning to them . To easy to pull the resources out of the ground ship em to China and buy them back so Chinese can then use the money to buy up Australia. Good O!
Dont have the luxury of doing Much ? Ha! We have to have a drastic rethink about our affluent lifestyle and how its paid for and price we pay for it . No more jumping in a jet aircraft at drop of a hat , No more driving big SUVs around the city where not needed And some of our luxury spare time needs to be commited to retraining and transitioning Jobs and lifestyle rather than Carbon emitting holidays
A 17 yr old with opposing view on climate Change ? I would regard and treat her same way as greta (who Ive never actually heard speak )(. Simply a reminder that theres a younger generation thatll feel effects of our choices . If I did say anything to or about her it would only be to point her in direction of the experts.
Judging by opponents on both sides they appear to have vested interests, MIchael Moore indicated that point. And Gore doesn't have a vested interest?
It may well have been expressed by many experts in the past and present, the ones in the past have had to change their thinking in terms of time, and who knows what the later ones will do if it doesn't eventuate.
2bn dollars under to day's issues that is strangling the country is at least a start, unless of course you want all the people on Job Keeper and Seeker to give up their Govt grants.
I understand renewable energy has numbers of employment opportunities, but ATM they would pale by comparison with the numbers involved in mining and their ancillary industries. Which gets to my point of gradual phasing out ,not slash and burn.
My point about stopping coal to China,is they will buy it elsewhere, and Global Warming as a result will not change one iota.
Believe me our affluent lifestyle will be changing and for numbers of people already has started to change. As a result of COVID-19 and the cost of Govt necessary Fed and state Govt initiatives.I suggest more Australians will be holidaying either at home /Pacific Islands and NZ or Bali.Travel costs will be kept to an affordable minimum.I certainly will not be doing any more overseas travel, with perhaps one trip to Fiji if at all.
If people work their rings out for 50 weeks of the year, they are entitled to a break. Decent numbers can afford it, others can't.It's not up to you and me to tell them where or if they should go outside this country.
The irony people like Zali Steggal a skier is not going to go overseas on occasions.
You might well treat a 17 year old with respect who has opposing views, but many on the left Greens in particular have no qualms in lambasting anyone publicly ,with opposing views. ScoMO has been the butt of it, and so have farmers with invasion of their properties.
I have family of that young vintage, thus I am not immune to their views and I am just as concerned as anyone in the Greens about their future in a clean environment.
If anything I would have said to her, with due respect young lady,I would not be taking up the CNN offer. This virus is something to be left to the experts, you're commitment should be the environment.
