It's the message he is sending. He said we are happy to continue down that path. If I'm worried about such things why wouldn't I be critical.

I'm not really sure that protection of trees is at the top of the Liberal/National party agenda either.

ha
It’s not.
That’s the thing.
It’s not at the top of anyone’s list anymore .
Suddenly it’s all about coal.
Must be money to be made somewhere else.
People whinge about high rise living.
They want ( me included) their own block of land.
It’s cheaper the further out you go.
That means more and more land clearing.
Driven down old ( or is it new ?) Illawarra road at Menai lately?
One side of the road has just been obliterated.
Gone
Never to return.

That's an odd take but hardly surprising.

He's not really directing anything, is he? He's not one of the people in charge of the response. But Scomo was.

The "climate crisis" (if you want to call it that) is ongoing. Is he meant to just keep going until he's 153? Everyone gets to a point where they feel they've made their contribution and it's time to move on. If he's lost his drive I'm glad he's letting someone else have a go. He's not just taking up a seat for the pay.
#climatecrisis was what the greens tweeted about Scomo...their words. Such a crisis that their leader packs it in for family time.

Most of the town planning literature focuses on urban consolidation as a green strategy.

Urban sprawl is environmentally costly in that it:

-Wipes out native bushland/farming areas
- Increases energy consumption. (transportation, large houses/heating/cooling etc etc)

So yeah, I agree. It's part of the problem. But so is coal.

All those things have been around longer than the scomo’ reign.

maybe not you ...but there have been thousands literally blame him for bushfires and climate change.
All he has done is continue what has been done before.

where were all the marching children when Julia and Ruddy did the exact same thing?

Those pool figures are rubbish it’s just schools and people like me rehabbing limbs. It’s as quiet as down there. You only have to look at how many staff are employed , way too few to look after 2500 per day. Be realistic, more like 50 patrons per day if they are lucky.

Ok ,I see now that must include Loftus Railway Station.
It’s like talking to a climate sceptic.
I do know right now sutho will be heaving.
Having spent every Friday arvo there for yonks j can tell you there is kids swimming lessons
100’s of them
Parents everywhere
Kids everywhere in the kiddies pool thing before and after their lessons.
Gym classes full of mothers on bikes and stuff
Plus the outdoor pool has squad starting about 4.30
This happens most days.
On weekends the joint is packed with family’s
They also do kids parties there.

not sure what time you go there but right now it’s packed.

you know something
Plants absorb carbon
Australia has deforested 80% of VIC and NSW for agriculture.
Then farmers complain about drought.
Trees
Photosynthesis
Carbon dioxide
It’s all related.
Cut down all the trees what the f**k do they think will happen?
I’m sure coal mining is having an impact as well but let’s be serious here.
The country has been f**ked for decades .
Don’t use scomo holding up a piece of coal as an excuse for the current climate
( pun intended- thanks I’m here till Friday/ try the meat ..it’s not meat)
I totally agree with you carch Either we have to rethink our agriculture practices , how about this where our dry continent how about planting olive trees...and forget water intensive agriculture like cotton farming...

It funny you know
I was in Kunnanurra a couple of years ago.
A large part of the fruit tree farms are gone.
The reason I was given was the aboriginals would start fires in the bush and the fruit bats would fly off only to destroy the fruit crops.
The farmers ended up swapping to sandal wood plantations.
A massive risk as it takes each tree 10 years to mature and each tree needs another companion tree ( a different tree all together).
Sandal wood
Who knew
Apparently it is worth an absolute fortune overseas.
Not much to look at.

Frenzy.

Don't worry about climate change.

If COVID-19 takes hold half of us will be dead before the climate change matters.

10 hours of meetings last week about this shit. Another 4 hour one first thing Monday.

Knee jerk nation of the world.

ScoMo is doing this.

As I said earlier it's business vs borders.

I think it's very important to get on top of it. Action will come at an economic cost, whether it's by our government or others.

But it's going global now. It's spread too far to stop it. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be prepared but we're really up against it now.

We probably need a global population reset. Hope it's not me and my friends though.

Just hope the virus mutates and becomes less deadly.

That’s got nothing to do with blaming scomo for climate change
Blame him for being a dumb arse business man.
Maybe he was advised by experts that electricity would be cheaper.

In my experience not many things get cheaper especially things like
Water
Electricity
Gas
Petrol

I blame Scummo for Quick posting in the wrong thread.

Scotty from Marketing is a joke. Unfortunately he is "our" joke.

Got on the front foot and shamed the banks into passing on full interest rate cut. Nicely played.

Just hope the virus mutates and becomes less deadly.

It is already less deadly than the flu unless you are an at 'risk' person! Nearly 60% of all cases in the world have now recovered.

Remember the Flu last year in Brisbane alone had 60K cases, over 3000 hospitalisations and over 900 dead. They ran out of doctors in the hospitals to care for them.

I think the mortality rate for this is still higher. It just hasn’t infected as many people. Yet
