Australia sure is lucky to play on all these Roads, whilst poor NZ plays on potato fields

Not surprised that that soap dodging, pasty skinned LeedsGimp hasn't shown its ugly face in this forum.

Has anyone been reading cricinfo this test? Easily the worst commentary I have seen on there.

It is some dude attempting to be funny even second ball and failing miserably

Lol this is how I expected the 1st test to go.

Our batting line up is appalling. Lyth and Ballance are puss. Bell is more over the hill than Anthony Watmough. Cook is timid. Stokes, Buttler and Ali are ODI batsmen.

I'm sticking with my original prediction of 4-1.

However, given the nature of test wickets these days the toss is almost the defining moment of every test. If we win the next 3 tosses we're a chance.

How has Ballance averaged 50 in tests?

Has he been playing Zimbabwe?

Can't believe there aren't better openers than Lyth or better spinners than Ali.

Bloody hell!

Haddin is having a bad time.

Had to pull out for family reasons and now his house could have blown up yesterday arvo.

Plus his daughter has been sick as we know.

he and all his family are in England

falls into the wtf category for mine

Smith's form has been going on for much longer than a season or 2, ever since that 100 at the Waca I think it was last ashes (which we desperately needed)
On the other hand Ponting average 60+ for about 8 years from Jan 99 to Jan 2007 (including a stretch of 52 tests averaging 75-80, just under 6000 runs). He was a freak.

Still, Smithy has been brilliant of late.

Bloody weird on the Haddin thing - even if they're all in England that's scary!

You lot are precious on Smith - fine fine player, on one hell of a tear - and deservedly rated very highly the ratings - but premature to call him great, and all I am saying is this wicket and most the wickets in Australia last summer were pretty flat...

Clearly de Villiers and Sanga remain the best - imo Smith heads the younger group a sniff ahead of with Root then Williamson and Kohli

Amla and Younis etc remain pretty f**king good too

This has really backfired on the Poms - they needed Miandad to take charge of the coin toss for them
