Tigers only club looking for coach in 2019....

Surely Dragons have to consider their options for 2020 w so many good coaches on the market......thing is they cant announce a new coach till after the season as they dont want to unsettle 2019 campaign - so the official word has to be from the club that we wont be looking to announce 2020 coach till end of season...we dont want the coaching media circus unsettling the team...unless

they resign Mcgregor early!!!!!

Anyone who thought we were ever going to sign anyone lives in disneyland.
Our club honestly thinks Paul is the man to take us to a premiership next year.
He ain't going anywhere.
So move on I say. Give it up. Accept it as fact, Paul McGregor is our coach for the foreseeable future.
Oh, and Aitken and Lafai are our centres.
That's very very very depressing

Its only depressing if you ever thought there was any other outcome possible.
I didn't for one second think we would sign another coach for 2019 just as I don't for one second think Aitken and Lafai won't be our 1st selection centres.
Lomax will be lucky to get a wing spot but I reckon he'll start in ISP.
I'd bet money on it.

Aitken and Lafai will be our centes, I agree.

I also agree that Lomax, will be shafted onto the wing... if that... I know many here think he will get the start in the centres but I cant see it. Hope Im wrong.

This is the price we pay for the great win at suncorp......it gives the weasels justification, but then again they probably wouldn't have sacked him even if we got bundled out of the semis in the first week.

You mean that game where Mary looked like he'd just won the lotto up in the coaches box? Yep, we all knew it but hoped for a miracle.
Mediocrity reigns at Saints as we seem to be happy to just compete while others go for glory. It will be interesting viewing next season with the coaching changes though.

Of course the issue with this is that (a) they were never looking for a new coach, and (b) they see McGregor as a "quality" coach already.

To say we missed the boat is indeed not correct, we never bought a ticket for it anyway.

I had thought that Bennett would see out 2019 at the broncs and likewise our Mary here at the Dragons . What I was attempting to say was that our board would had made the necessary overtures to Bennett in an attempt to have him here for season 2020 , I really believed ( or hoped ) that 2019 was to be the maestros last . But of course that will now not eventuate .

It was NEVER going to eventuate, mate.

As Bennett said himself when announcing he was departing for Newcastle in 2012, “the job has been done”.

He’s always been a proactive (rather than reactive) sort of bloke.

Marys building an empire......of mediocrity!
If Aitken is picked over Lomax in the centres Ill go for Woy Woy Brothers I think...

Ill try get inside Marys head....hmm...I think this will be his 2019 backline...hes pretty radically unpredictable...

Dufty
Lomax
Lafai
Aitken
Periera
Widdop
Hunt

with Mann getting the bench again and poor Field not playing a game

As previously indicated, I reckon Aitken is a “shoe in” for left wing.

Nah, Aitken will not be dislodged from centre until injury. Bet you a carton of James Boags.
Your thought on the centres is 100% correct but IMO Lomax will not be selected on the wing.
Perreira and Pearson and Lomax to bide his time in reggies.
Lawrie will also get a reggies ticket due to signing K Sims because our illustrious leader will still go with a back on the bench.
The mind set and media statement will be something like this
"We did well last year considering all the adversity and injuries late in the season, our young players did really well but what we lacked was 1 or 2 more senior player and we have now adressed that with Korbin coming in and Pearson already has 11 NRL games under his belt and would have had more except for the great depth at the Broncos. This extra depth will place us in a better position during SOO and at the back end of the season"
