this is unbelievable how players can pick and chose and leave when ever they feel like it. something needs to be done.

There's no such thing as a water right contract. It just comes down to who's willing to pay the most in lawyers fees.
Plus if a player openly doesn't want to be there are you going to want to keep him?

Check "Joe's Magpies" OP. He cited Weidler's Twitter account, and #nrl. There is nothing at either place.

The story was actually reported on Channel 9 News by Weidler. "Joe's Magpies" can't remember where he picks up his rumours. He needs to be accurate on his sources.

No he didn't. You're a congenital liar, and as per your own post, should therefore be banned.

Weedler has a lot to answer for if this is the case.

Probably busy taking a break from wiping Khoder Nasser's arse.

It is a very shit go if indeed it was a planned break.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

Seems a reasonable enough reason for him leave with them having a bye. It also seems reasonable that Para are just trying to play for time and hope they can work it before the next game.

It's just as embarrassing people are taking Parra's statement as gospel

Who cares about their statement? It was pointed out by multiple people before they said anything that Parra have the bye and he's probably just going for a visit.

Unless it is a story about Dank or one of Nasser's crew (and even then he is just a mouthpiece for them), Weidler's never had any credibility.

Contracts do not force behaviour. All they do is outline terms. Player leaves , player does not meet terms, does not get paid. That's it.

A contract does not mean indentured servitude.

PARRAMATTA have responded to reports that Australia representative Semi Radradra has walked out on his NRL contract.

On Saturday night, the Nine Network reported the Eels’ player boarded a plane on Saturday morning for Fiji, telling the club he was not coming back.

Radradra apparently wanted to pursue a rugby union career in France but is contracted with Parramatta beyond this season.

French rugby club Bordeaux had already been linked to the Eels sensation.

In a possible compromise, however, Nine reported the club was willing to let him go to France to play rugby from August to April, but on the basis that he comes back to the Eels and signs a three-year deal on return.

On Saturday night, the Parramatta club responded to the report.

“The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Semi Radradra has been granted permission to return to Fiji for a short family visit during the bye round,” a statement read.

“He is expected to return to Sydney in time to prepare for the club’s next NRL game against Cronulla.

“Semi Radradra is contracted to play for the Parramatta Eels until the end of the 2017 season, and has given no indication that the contract will not be honoured.”

Reports of a Radradra walk-out are not new.

Earlier in the year he reportedly threatened to leave the NRL over eligibilty issues which stipulate that the Fijian-born star could not play Origin.

Radradra and his management have repeatedly been forced to deny rumours that Dally M winger of the year wanted out of his current deal.

“I’m very happy at Parramata, being here with the boys and with Brad [Arthur] and everything - and if I was able to play Origin it would just be a bonus,” Radradra said in March.

“But I know there are rules and if I can get picked or not, I’m still happy at Parramatta.”

Radradra switched his allegiance to Australia on residency grounds to be able to play in the mid-season Test against New Zealand.

They are....

Club need to agree (and can reject it if they wanted to). But when a player asks to leave, forcing him to stay will make him miserable and probably harm his form.

I sucks to lose a great player, but when they want to leave clubs should focus on keeping the relationship healthy and getting a good payout (and the ARLC should be looking at the incentives that draw players away; its probably not money with the new TV Deals, so is it the prestige of international RU)
