Shane Watson and the tap on the shoulder?

The way he gets out time and time again is just so pathetic.

Combine that with his complete refusal to take singles and turn the strike over and he's never been a top quality batsmen.

I'd prefer henriques or Falkner coming in at 7.

In saying that though we still have a genuine problem at no. 3, not sure how we're going to sort that out.

Clarke to 3. Problem sorted.

Forget the tap, Watson needs a size 14 boot us his arse. Bring in Faulkner, Uzi, Doolan, Madinson, Silk, heck even bloody Hughes. Just get Watson the hell out of the team

Brad Haddin has now a better batting average than Watson 36.09 to 35.36

Haddin 4 centuries in 86 innings
Watson 3 centuries in 89 innings

If we win in Perth, he'll be nailed on for centuries in Melbourne and Sydney and this false economy will see him selected well on into the future.

I didn't even say I wanted Watson dropped, let alone for HAH. I don't think HAH should replace Watson. HAH should replace Rogers. People get mad at me for bringing him up too often when I'm not the one who does it half the time.

you do it more than half the time.

I would pat Watson on the shoulder and tell him his failed test career is over.

Put all your efforts into being fit for one dayers and twenty/20.

Does this surprise you?

Watson is a very good ODI player, and an adequate test player - should really bat 6 and bowl more... had a good spell a few years back opening with Katich, but beyond that has failed to deliver... He's not Kallis - but his bowling is very handy, as can be his 35 runs

I hate Watson. But I still think calls for him to be dropped are harsh. His averages would look more than adequate at 6. Play him there. Bowl him properly. If he breaks down then get rid of him.

Lol so an average of 35 is acceptable for a number 6 batsman in a team who aspires to reclaim the title of best in the world.

Riiiigggghhhtttt.

Shane Watson, batting number 6, career average 26.66

He has actually batted and failed there already.

Yep. Like WilliamGilbertGrace he's mentally weak and should be nowhere near the team. It's unbelievable that Watson has no idea where his off stump is when batting too.

I hope before the third test Michael Slater puts up another picture of Watson looking serious and says more shit about how he's got his game face on and will make 3 more centuries in the series. Would make the failing even more delicious.
