Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan is set to be deregistered by the NRL, leaving the club without a coach less than three months before the start of the season.

Sharks officials have been called to a meeting at League Central on Wednesday morning to learn of their coach's fate, which was determined when the commission met on Tuesday.

They will be handed the integrity unit's detailed report into whether Flanagan broke the conditions of his year-long suspension from the game in 2014 in connection to the peptides scandal.

Flanagan has been invited to attend the meeting. Even if he appeals any breach notice, he would be banned from attending Cronulla training and matches until the process is complete.

It is understood any sanction will be indefinite, meaning Flanagan would have to prove that he was a fit and proper person if he wants to coach in the NRL again.
