Sharks for sale

I don't see what is wrong with natural attrition. Newtown supporters have gotten use to not having a team playing at the highest level. Anyone buying the Sharks would only be doing so for the potential land development. The clubs assets will be sold off to try and pay off the outstanding debt before the club is dissolved because it isn't profitable. The risk of the public and local businesses accepting and sponsoring a relocated team and is too high even with the state government and NRL paying for the costs of relocating.

the central queensland bidding team have mentioned that they are willing to consider adopting a nsw team relocating up there; worth looking at for the sharks?

Maybe Sharks supporters should actually attend the club's remaining home games in big numbers.

Show they really care.

You would think so, right?

Last season (When Cronulla did very well) Ricky Stuart warned the supporters they would risk losing games to Homebush if they didn't start turning up. They still didn't.

Cronulla was a money pit when the economy was going well. Who in their right mind would invest in a basket case located in a swamp in the current climate?

The only certain thing is, it will be a fire sale when it happens.

2 headed 7 toed wooden toothed banjo pickers

If only the Shire was located in Tasmania:crazy:

Adelaide couldnt sustain a team, there is no foundation.
The Bears have done the ground work at the Central Coast and deserve a shot. The Reds, the same in Perth.

The Sunshine coast has 260 000 people and rising.
Its the 10th biggest population area in oz.
Queensland need another team.

To me it makes the most sense for the long term viability of the game.

Isn't Mat Rogers from Qld?
And Joel Reddy is from Adelaide.

I guess that's a consequence of being close to oil refineries and chemical plants not to mention the high energy power lines going over their ground. Strum that banjo.

Now you mention it the one on the right does have a slight resemblance to Trent Barrett

Just putting it out there, last year Cronulla pulled just under 13,000 average crowds. More then 4 other teams including the Storm. So they aren't THAT bad with the crowds as some people are making out as far as potential goes.

Yeah, but where did they finish? You would expect in a good year to get much better crowds, yet they still got 3 under 10K last season.

As for Storm, I think with the new stadium, things will change a lot, and unfortunately it will be Sydney teams looking poorer overall.

Well both moved from interstate as teenagers so I guess you have every right to claim them as local product...

Rogers played almost all his junior rl in the shire.
he played union as well as a kid up the coast I think.

I am pretty sure he also lived at lennox hd?
Sludge ran a pub there.
I could be wrong on the exact local though.

I do know he lived in Engadine as a kid.
It always had me fugged why he played for QLD...a bit like Inglis
