I'd be more tempted to run with 6. Carney 7. Towsend and try and find Kelly a home in the centres or as a impact bench player. Does make Jeff Robson a stupid buy considering we have J.Morris who can play the same role.

Cronulla officials insist they have had no contact with Todd Carney but will not rule out the possibility of him joining the club next season. Sharks coach Shane Flanagan yesterday described Carney as a ''good player'' but said he had not spoken with Carney or his manager David Riolo since Sydney Roosters last week release last year's Dally M medal winner from the remaining year of his contract. ''I'm making no comment,'' Flanagan said. ''I'm in almost daily contact with David Riolo but not about Todd Carney. That is not to say it is completely out of the realms of possibility but at the moment there is nothing happening.'' Carney has been linked to Catalans but the French Super League club does not have an import quota spot for him
