Sharks rule out safe haven if Carney and Roosters part ways

According to MMM Grill Team Footy Forum this morning, Carney and Manager are meeting with the Sharks at 10am today.

Be terrific if he went with us, though we usually express first interest in wanted players, only to see them sign elsewhere!
Lets hope in this instance, he( Carney) feels the same way about Gould, as the majority of us do!

Okay .... serious question..... as I dont hear munch up here in the northern outposts.

What is the latest goss on Carney.

(You don't expect me to buy a Murdoch News Of The World Tabloid do you?)

Again ... serious question.

From a great source, I am hearing what is in the tabloids for once is true. Carney is wanted by Flanno but the hierarchy have to be convinced. Plus Ross has definitely signed.

Earlier in the year I was hearing Carney to French Union as he was sick of all the media attention. That was before the latest incident. This was from a different source.

Personally, I think it will drag out as he considers his options over the next few weeks (if he has any).

Not sure on the Visa situation re French Union.

This is how you play it Elmer.

You don't offer any money. Do not mention a figure - just let him know we are interested if he wants to make a huge contribution on the field.

Mention all the positives - playing with Gal, Smithy and Gards, loved by the fans and being part of the first Shark premiers, etc.

Then send him away to think if he really wants to play here.

IF he comes back make him an offer and give him a strict deadline to sign.

Otherwise we will be used AGAIN to drive someone's price up.
We will off overs as usual and he will take it straight to Tinkler or Gould we will be left hanging again.

Take a stand mega.

Don't be fooled by the "We're not interested" line being thrown out by clubs. There is plenty of interest.

One club has offered over him over $200k straight up.

The point is that the Sharks are not his only option - he has plenty to choose from.

Seems like we are still talking with him, and Gal will be his mentor !!!!!!!!!! Maybe he could move in with Gal and family? looking after a baby / toddler should straighten the rude little bugger out eh , but then all I can see is the media following him all over the Shire. If you think it was bad for Buster wait till this guy turns out for the Sharks.

He carved us up.

I amth just sayingith.

Actually I though we beat the Roosters the last few times he played us.

They did us when he wasn't playing wasn't it?

That said great player.

And at least he doesn't bash women.

I can't see any reason the NRL wouldn't allow him to play again, he didn't break any laws or bring the code into disrepute after his DD charge.

Was talking to another Sharks fan who reckons we load him up with as much booze as a human can take pre season. So much that he wakes up not wanting to drink again.

Then let him cut loose after a grand final win.
