Yes he should go. but it will take a good coach to get us firing again. Our squad is very overrated.....even our depth!

I just watched the press conference and while I think Mary has potential as a coach, I don't think he'll reach it. His explanation for some of the selections today shows more 'mad scientist' than 'genius' and gives me no confidence going forward

I hate to say it, but I think we need to move on and sound out Toovey (or Cleary).

On Deano and Hornby, please...please...if they have any real coaching aspirations, they need to fly the red and white coup and learn the trade elsewhere under the watchful eyes of a proven, successful coach. It'd be in the best interests of all.

I too was left scratching my head over positional selections for today's match. However it was good to see Mary admit that it was attitude, more than anything, that determined the result. I hope he is asking himself what he must to do to better prepare the team mentally. Our mental game has been a problem for a while - not just this season. Fix that and we can be as competitive as any top eight team in any given year.
Hornby was the most doggedly competitive player when he was playing. This is what made him a natural choice for captain. I don't think Ben Creagh is made of the same stuff. Not yet sure about Widdop.

But what I don't understand is Doust's reasoning in signing Mary. If I was doust, I would have appointed henry or someone else external. From a pure perspective of saving his own job, it would have made more sense. If he signed another coach instead of Mary

1. The board is untouchable.
2. This breeds a snouts in the trough mentality.

Welcome to the Dragons - no accountability, no transparency.

Allegedly (and, I assume, accurately), we 'had' Bennett until the eleventh hour. If so, then Doust and his snouts did seek an external appointment (albeit one with a previous connection to the Club).

At the time, Mary was a 'caretaker' after the Price sacking, an action for which most of us were very grateful. Mary was a suitable appointment at that time.

I doubt his job is under threat from 'Doust's snouts' - yet.

No excuses today, it was a poor performance and the coach has to wear it/ a lot of the blame. I'm not calling for a sacking but his destiny is in his own hands sink or swim.....

Or teach a fish to swim.

Both he & Steve Price have failed as coaches because they were trying to be Wayne Bennett clones with their methods (right through to the repetitive press conferences). The decisions being made from the top down are awful when it comes to appointing coaching staff, recruiting staff & general jobs for the boys. The 'he's a good bloke' mentality to these people & also some players is destroying the club. Who would want to come & play for them?

Please, Peter Doust & others who are hanging on through stubborn pride, step aside - people will think more of you. The longer you stay, the more damage you create & leave a bigger mess for the unfortunate people who are next in those positions.

Take it as fact even sum of doustys mates on the board think he is passed it now, enough said

I said no excuses for today that was rubbish today. He proved you wrong last year and you wouldn't admit it. We were 4 and 4 and I was happy with that considering the teams draw. Today was absolute rubbish I'm not a bias hater like you I am a real straight shooter compared to you (if he fails I will admit I was wrong about him), but hold your horses he may still get you yet once again... just admit it this time if it happens ok be a real man ;-)

You don't think moving Dugan back to centre again today indicates Mary has no idea? Mate you're the eternal optimist but he's sunk already ...
The team has no tactics and no heart.....sad times indeed
