The mods are very nice people. But sometimes the table service is simply not up to standard. Did you ask?

Or maybe you could just go along for the ride and see the funny side. There's too much stress in the world already.
Of course you're right possm.* All typos should be recognised for what they are.

Attitude is the issue and Mary is responsible for fixing that and making sure the players go into every game with the right attitude.

You don't see Bennett or Bellamy coached side lose games because of a poor attitude.

He has to take all that responsibility if he is going to blame attitude for the poor form.

Judging by the Cutters For and Against it looks like we have a great attacking coach option which is not being utilised.

I would restructure the coaching ranks and elevate Demitriou to Assistant and move Hornby/Young to Cutters.

Bandaid solution.

Hornby and Young should be sent on their way right out the door along with Mary.

I repscet Ben and Dean for the service they gave to the club but they are just in the jobs for the boys category and need to go coach some place else for a while.

JD would be a fine full time assistant under a better coach and since that doesn't seem like its going to happen anytime soon then no point moving him from where he is.

i dont mind having Young and Hornby in the coaching ranks if they have excellent mentors to learn from. Its just blind leading the blind at the moment, and IMO have been given a role too senior for the current amount of experience they have.

they should both be involved with the U20's not assistant to first grade - too much too soon, with no mentor ship available.

Show us the money.!!! Show us the money !!!
Unless we have a few quid behind us and I mean lots of dollar, we we still be hanging out for new coaches. Give it a break.

I voted YES but we all know it's not going to happen when he has another 18 months to go. We'll end up finishing 9/10th this year and Mary will make every excuse after the sun about why we missed the 8 and then next year we'll be 4 wins and 4 losses to start the year and Doust/board will re-appoint him for a further 2 years to finish the job he was asked to do. This will then lead to an extension of the Dragon's 'Dark Ages' from 2012 - 2019. Can we fast forward to 2020 or do we save 3 more years of heartache and sack Mary now?

I've heard a lot regarding our financial situation, but there were also very strong rumours that we went all out to sign Bellamy...
therefore you would assume we do have the funds for a better coach wouldn't you?

If I recall correctly they signed Bennett as he brought sponsors with him, effectively covering his cost. Going after Bellamy may have been a similar scenario.

Throwing money away by paying out a coaches contract is not necessarily the same

If the club decides the time has come to move on from Mary, I hope the quantifiable financial cost of paying him out is not the only thing front and centre. The real question should be can we afford not to?

Consistent poor performances/seasons impact everything from sponsorship to recruitment/retention to memberships to merchandise sales to bums on seats at games etc. Hard to quantify the impact now, but extremely important nonetheless.

Mary should have been put on notice last week after the DUI incident. 4 weeks notice to lift performance in that the team can actually score points through playing attacking football. Failing that then he should be punted and the only outsider (Demetriou) be appointed care taker coach until next season. Sweep the broom through the boys club and seek the best experienced candidate for 2017.

Not sure mate, but i don't think he is being retained just because of the payout costs. If Doust wanted him gone he probably had his opportunity with the DUI thingy. With the job Mary does, such an error could probably have been argued as gross misconduct and may have been grounds for instant termination of contract. Doust never took the opportunity so i can only assume he has reasons for wanting to keep him around that don't necessarily relate to any payout figure for early termination.

Agree with you though about the cumulative effect of having an impostor as a coach, once the rot sets in it multiplies and it gets harder by the day to turn it all around.

Better to bring in a new coach as soon as possible. In this way a new coach would have the reamiander of this season to sort out his roster for next year.

Evidently we are misinterpreting things.

Somehow we all thought that Mary thought that "D" was for Defence.

According to Mary "D" is actually for DURR and de fence is the thing that the gate is connected to.

When someone asked him about attack he said "a tack" that's the thing you hit with a hammer when you're laying carpet.

Same here. I was dubbed Willow 40 years ago... except not army mates, more like inmates.

And we still laugh about it.

I think until we see a top of the line half back we will continue to struggle. The Roosters saw Pierce return and guide the team around the park. Although a weak opposition Pierce's influence made the Roosters more structured in both defence and attack. If we could sign an accomplished coach that players want to play for it would greatly improve our chances of signing one of the few top half backs when and if they become available. My vote for coach is Jeff Toovey he is a fierce competitor and as a coach has runs on the board, unlike our board Toovey is not the type to accept mediocrity from himself or his players.
