If the Broncos had won today, would anyone had been calling for a change of venue?? No, I don't be thinking so .. so why, all of a sudden, is this push for a change of venue?? It's the luck of the draw, it was decided MONTHS ago where the semi's would be held, so just put up with it.
1st post! or is it Dragon in disguise looking for some much needed support? Somebody give him a tissue

"Totally selfish attitude. You could get a Rugby League semi final with 80'000 people to it!!! How could you not want that??? If you have any faith in your team, then you wouldn't mind having a 50-50 crowd."

Let me guess, your team isn't playing next weekend????

If any dragons fans are against this move it only proves that they're scared of the tigers... if they really thought their team was good enough, they'd be keen to get as many Tigers fans amongst them as possible so all could see their "wonderful" team in action.

You sound a little worried about facing the Tigers next week Dragon!

lol only because my best mate is a Balmain supporter. Im kinda comforted in the fact that one of our teams will make the GF.
My 2nd team is the Tigers and vice versa, but like i said if the situation was reversed, nobody would call for a change of venue because the Saints arent the fairytale that Wests are.

Gonna be a cracker match.

Yes it will be a cracker, and at least 20,000 fans will be denied a chance to be there. NRL will be the loser. The best team on the day wil lwin regardless of who is there.

If they move it to telstra, I guarantee it'll get at least 65,000. Parra will get 25,000 tops... why wouldn't you want to change it.
Exactly, so 20k will miss out at Aussie. That's what I said. Parra will get more than 25k.

Nope!
I can't see why we would give away any advantage.
Maybe you would understand this if you supported a CONTENDER.
BTW, i thought it was only Swan's supporters who derived pleasure in sipping cafe-lattes.

Considering next Saturday the Sydney Swans are playing in the AFL Grand Final it would certainly be a feather in our cap if an NRL GF Qualifier got 80,000 to it. The games should be switched but i doubt it will happen but the good thing is the controversy regarding whether or not they should be switched should dominate the headlines thus stealing the Swans thunder.

Can you imagine if the Swans win the AFL GF on Saturday & the Tigers win on Saturday night, people will have forgotten about the Swans as quickly as people forgot about the Bulldogs are their GF win last year. It will be Tiger-Mania!!!

Mr Sharky and Tamazoid and all the other sh*t stirring Cronulla fans, im sure this discussion would concern you more if your pathetic team was actually playing. Or do you just want to go and cheer for the team with the prettiest colours?

Maybe next year eh?

I don't think this matters (check the TV ratings...Iron Chef etc).
It is only the Oxford Street set who follow the Swans in Sydney.

Roosters supporter. Hate the AFL.
But in I would support a change to see 80,000 fans if it was a Roosters semi.

Keep your personal vendettas out of this. You and your fellow Stain fans' logic is against the views of everyone else, not just us Sharks supporters...

Rather do that than support the man with the whistle. Financially...

Keep it at the SFS.

1. I don't think they would get 80 000 to the game at Telstra.
2. I, as well as about 30 000 other Dragons fans have bought tickets to the SFS already.
3. To those who think we are not giving up some sort of advantage at the SFS are kidding themselves.
4. Homebush is a terrible place to watch footy at.

If this situation has helped to expose flaws in the way the NRL has gone about structuring it's finals series and associated ticket sales... let the lesson be learnt and remembered when planning next years finals... do not take it out on the SFS Northern end, bay 21-28 september loving fans of the mighty Dragons. It's going to be a full house at the the best Rugby league stadium in the state, and I cannot wait.

Sure I'd be annoyed if I was a Wests Tigers fan... but we are all playing under the same system... a system which at the moment is rewarding the second placed side to the tune of something like a 5:1 crowd advantage in the preliminary final.

I don't really see the issue. Bring it on.

i don't get all you st george supporters saying it gives the tigers a home ground advantage..
if 30 000+ dragons supporters have already bought tickets then why should it give the tigers a home ground advantage?
i don't understand some people.

Blue n White

1. The ratio of 30 000 : 42 000 as opposed to 30 000 to 83 000.
2. Homebush is perceived to be more Tigers territory than the SFS. In fact it is on the books as Tiger's marquee game home ground.
3. A lot of St George fans will testify to the SFS being our home ground in September.. with many memorable moments having taken place there.

I doubt 30,000 dragons supporters tickets have bought tickets to the qualifer

As the tickets have been on sale since round 23 or something then alot of neutrals would of got in first as usual( a few thousand, maybe 2) and do you think Tigers supporters are stupid enough not to buy tickets ahead in case their team won today. Id say about 22 or 23k at least would of been sold to dragons supporters by today, with about 7k or so to others including tigers fans. I can imagine the rest of the tickets sold will be gone by tomorrow and will be majority tigers fans.

Just on the argument that it would give Hindy 1 less day this is irrelevent as the game would still be played on the Sunday just at a different venue.
