Phillips,I would have scoffed at that suggestion even a month ago but he has made significant improvement.
I'm hoping his confidence is much better next season because with Matty and Willie both coming off injuries it's going to be a test.

A lot of talk this week that Mark Tuafua was in talks with the Cowboys and was looking forward to playing this week to make a big impression, but Smithy dropped him despite a bunch of forwards dropping out - go figure.

We've re-signed Ash Graham until 2012. This is a good thing - there were rumours that Melbourne were interested. But it does make me wonder what we're going to do with all these centres.

Also, we've got Neil henry's partner-in-crime, assistant coach Mick Crawley. He's the guy, according to Raiders fans, who actually comes up with their dazzling attacking plays.

We still lack a bit of depth in the halves. If JT is injured, the only real replacement is Watts - no one else is a natural playmaker. Mind you, nearly every other team is short of quality halves too, so it's not a real disadvantage.

Our forwards really let us down in 2008. From the looks of things, we've recruited well and shouldn't have the same problem in 2009.

Tronc will be missed - But we've got some nice young guys coming through.
In all honesty, I'd like a lighter, more versatile forward pack.

Troncy tries hard, and gets good stats but he really lacks some pr!ck about him when it comes to hit ups and tackles. He doesn't have any mongrel in him. To this day I still think Rauhihi is the best prop we have ever had. Imagine having him in his prime (2004-2005) teaching the likes of Tamou and Rapira?????

tronc does lack mongrel but he gets us up the other end of the field which is all thats asked of him. Rauhihi was a fav of mine while he was at cowboys. absolute champion.

I reckon Tamou is shaping up as a replacement prop nicely.

But Kaufusi had better pull his f*cking finger out soon, otherwise we'll need to find another prop to replace him.

Im not overly concerned about losing Tronc, especially with Tamou and Rapira both fighting for a spot at the moment. I also think Kaufusi will improve if given a proper starting spot
