At this stage, yes.You going to the game?
I read today that Tim Smith wants to come back to Australia and the NRL next season, we MUST make a play at him. Mullen and Smith in the halves would destroy teams, I really, really hope we make an offer to him.
On a one year contract match payments only and on the understanding if he so much sneezes at the wrong time his gone, are the only circumstances I'd be happy to see him @ the club.
Have a look at the table Big Tim.
Semi finals last year and beaten only by the Roos this year.
Central are in the top three sides these days.
Wests on the other hand, despite the big cheque book, are not looking so flash.
I am hearing that young Delany wont be playing U19 this week though.......
Dribbler Danny Weidler said on the Footy Show that Chase Stanley is expected to head to the Melbourne Storm next year.
Yet another ' target ' the Knights thought they would sign up will end up elsewhere?
Yeah but then again that was all speculation from people over the internet, I didnt read one article that had a quote from anyone indicating we were in talks with him let alone close to signing him.

Exactly
I think the problem is the perception that Newcastle is a drab place to live and that the lifestyle on offer is poor.yeah I read the Toohey column.
we have to face it that no one in demand is going to come here when they have an option that isn't Canberra, unless we are paying big dollars or they already know the place / lifestyle.
Only guys looking for opportunity (Hilder, Fuss, Houso, Lulia) or lured by overs (Wicks, Cross, Little Doogs) end up here.
Karma is right on this one.
Can we change it? Probably not unless we get a marquee coach.

This is a false perception in for the football players, who get to live in quality suburbs at far less cost than living in Sydney.
Canberra, Nth Qld and until recently St.G/Illawarra have the same issues in regards to attracting players. Unless players are from the area originally they generally think that capital city teams offer more in terms of lifestyle. The Titans will be in the same boat in a few years when they lose the start up cap concessions and can no longer afford to chuck cash at players.
Short of signing Wayne Bennett, what else can be done?
Canberra I understand, but Newie is an awesome place to live (unless night life is your be all and end all).
Canberra have had issues absolutely.
But Nth Qld?
Luke O Donnell? J.T.? Willie Tonga? Antonio Kaufusi?
