Did Parra lose because of Hayne? or because the Rooster outplayed us ?

Seriously he carries our whole side in attack but can only do it if our forwards win upfront.
He is very good in attack when he's on song and the team helps him. But the Full Back role entails more than flashy attack, and that is where Hayne fails miserably, and today the Roosters took advantage of the fact he has absolutely no clue about defense.
I dare say that at least 3 of tonight's Roosters tries would have have been prevented by Slater!

Hayne is a 5/8th in the making. When that happens and when he sees this himself and accepts it he will be crowned the best ever.

I created a thread many months ago and stated that he will eventually be our 6. I still believe that.
I think he should be too, but when Ando tried it he sooked until he got fullback. Not only did he sook, he actually never really tried at 5/8, he just went through the motions.

So I'd love to see him moved to 6, but only if he was willing to give it a proper go.

:lol::lol:
Last week he was going to be the best FB ever. Now that that has been shown up to be laughable ,deluded Parra fans move him to another position, where strangely he is going to be the best ever again.

Next wk he will be showing promise as the best prop EVER.

yes and yes
The Roosters did play bloody good tonight but Hayne was the main reason behind them scoring so many tries so early, which put them on a roll.

I've been saying it for ages now, since he was 1st put into fullback. Hayne is great in attack but woeful defensively, he has always been like that at fullback.

His positioning is pathetic and he has always had that lack of urgency. For some reason idiots were beating their chests about his try saver on Stagg last week as if Hayne was now a great defender. One swallow doesn't make a summer.

Without a doubt he can be great in attack but he is the worst fullback in the comp for positioning, which means bad defense. It has always been like that but tonight highlighted it massively, and Fox even showed how bad he was positionally.

Ron Jeremy was saying Hayne is better than Brett Kenny, well stick Kenny at fullback next week, even though he never played the position, at his age he'd still be better positionally than Hayne.:D

I like Hayne and love watching what he can do in attack but he is a liability when we haven't got the ball.

 And yet you Parra fans still think he's the best fullback in the world

 generalise much, I think you mean most Parra fans.
I have never said that he is a great fullback, just the opposite actually, I have said he is a useless fullback. His attacking ability with scoring and setting up tries has covered up for him.

Go back and look through this thread, I was arguing with an idiot just a few days ago about Hayne. Most of the Eels fans on here have been talking crap about Hayne being so great for ages, I have always been on the other side of the argument. He is great in attack but woeful in defense, positioning and urgency.

So don't throw me into that group, I've been critical of him as a fullback ever since he was put there. I know most Eels fans have made stupid comments about him being a great fullback, I never have, he is actually a very poor fullback. He is a great attacking weapon but he has no idea about how to play fullback when defending.

Hayne tried his guts out tonight in attack, but has no defence.

Five eighth? That went well last time... Eh, maybe he'll grow into the role. He's only young, he'll fit in somewhere I guess.

Well in that case, thank you for making an honest assessment of him, something which the majority of your fans are unable to do.

Yes, Hayne when he wants to turn up is a brilliant ball runner/player. He is a very natural footballer, and with the right attitude could go down as one of the best attacking players the game has seen.

However at the moment, he is woeful positionally and defensively, dreadfully inconsistent and lazy. I wouldn't trade him at fullback for Dugan for anything personally.

Optimally, he should undergo some expert halves tutelage in the off season and move to 5/8th for 2011. Potentially he is a very complete player, far more so than say a Billy Slater or Greg Inglis.
