SMH: A pair of losses, but Kearney is coach for long haul, say Eels

Yet the person making that call is in a bubble, they have no information and are forced to believe in the results which they can't see yet. It might not change their mind but it might give them something to think about.

A bubble? Mark, you can't spoon feed people their opinions, and a video on a website sure as hell isn't going to do it. The information is all there if you watch our games.

I don't reckon there would be too many people who want the coach sacked after two games. Alot of the talk has been in regards to us having another bad season.

There were plenty who didn't even want him hired in the first place

Seriously Mark, that won't change the opinions of anyone who already wants to get rid of the coach after two games into the season, especially those that are using radio or newspaper reports and not their own eyes to form their opinions

Yes those poor little ignorant fools... they're probably just brainwashed by the media. :sarcasm:

Well Judging on the comments of people around me for the last two games. There a large group who don't see anything that supports his case.

Yeah, and a video will fix it

No mate, seriously if you think that I am saying one single video will fix our ill, then you must think me quite dim. I have said communication from the board would help our clubs supporters to know what is going on.

LOL, yeah.
You're really clutching at straw's now Mark if this is your major gripe against the Board. FMD.

Suity

Ah trust Suity to throw his two cents in. Ha ha. Awesome generalization mate, well done. Make sure you twist the argument to make it fit what you’re going to say!

Who said I had a gripe against the board? I put forward to the AGM that better communication would help them, and that communication on a personal level might assist them in gaining the support of the masses, which I believe would assist them in the future.

If I had a gripe, I certainly would not be talking about it here first.

Yeah, nothing but the facts from our media. Seen many reports about the Leveson inquiry in News Ltd publications lately?

Glad that's cleared up

But most supporters don't want to know. When we aren't winning they just want someone to blame, and that's usually the coach, plus the usual players that get singled out, like Burt and Hayne. Extra communication from the CEO is not going to alter that, so I don't think you should have referred to the current on-field situation when referencing it.

Well that's the difference between you and I. I think our fans, our Season ticket Holders are very keen to know. They invest in the club and follow its fortunes regardless, I am quite sure they want to know what the people in charge are feeling and what they are thinking about the situation and unfortunately having read the article it refers to some things they are impressed about but it does not appear to be tangible. So let the board and the coach explain that.

Maybe it would put them in the spot light, or maybe it would put to ease some people. Who knows, but we can only try it as a way of starting a conversation with our fans for all matters concerning the club.

Don't you think it is interesting that MITS is talking about the board and the Chairman but Mickdo keeps mentioning Bentley.

Does this not strengthen MITS case about the comunication from the club?
Who should be our spokesperson to the Fans/members?

And therein Mark, lies where we differ.

Frankly, a lot of how they run the club is not really any of our f**king business, nor am I interested in most of it.
If you want them to communicate with the fans, they are only going to give you spin anyway, so that'd be a waste of time.
Stagger is right. I don't know about other clubs, but I think it's great that we can walk up to nearly all board members anytime and fire away questions. That's where I want to get my info from, not some half arsed propaganda video. The only one I don't think is very approachable is Chairman Roy. We all wanted a more approachable board, when the old regime were in. We've got it now, but it's still not enough for some.

I agree with bit's of everybodies responses here.
No one is wrong we just all have different opinions on how things should be done.
Thats what is so great about this forum.

good point suity,
we may only get the usual "so and so has the full support of the board" type comments.

Don't worry the deathriders org. will find something new to bitch about next week after their meeting in the batcave over the weekend. Can anyone guess what the bitchathon will be about? I reckon they'll bitch about that the grass at parra stadium is not green enough.f**ker Fitzy used to have it really dark green.

If you expect spin then that is all you will ever receive.

Interesting that you haven’t found Roy very approachable, as I have said I have known him for a while so it isn't a big issue, indeed when we meet on away games, it will normally be Roy who spots me first and say's hello.

You thought the old board was not approachable, that is your opinion, but as I have said on a number of occasions I was able to approach them and speak with them all at numerous occasions both back at the club, out the back after a game, at Fan Days and other events. They weren’t exactly hiding mate in my opinion.

Having said that the current board as just as approachable, but again one on one, they can only do so much.

It's true mate, and on many occassions talking to the current board members at times, spin is all I've receieved as well. And, I've told them so. When pressed a little, on the odd occassion, I've recieved respectable answers, and also stuff that I couldn't repeat here for obvious reasons.
Generally, they've been pretty good though.

I see where MITS is coming from, but the problem here is that once people form an opinion on something nothing is going to change there mind.

My mate hates SK and does not want him here and no video is going to change his mind, you try to explain to him about whats happening behind the scenes and he won't have a bar of it. Some people are pig headed that way.
