At the moment unity are getting everything they want memberships are down crowds are down no sponsors and we can't win a game and they seem to me not doing anything about it. The NRL are going to relocate us they know it and they are going to walk out of here with a couple of million dollars each.

Relocation wont happen. Who the hell would want our players? Gall would probably retire. Rest are no world beaters.

I would rather watch tapes of the likes of David Peachey,Matty etc than Richard and Jono in person. They ruin the grass.

After contemplation, what did you decide Toops would bring?

Hard to believe we signed an old Tupou / Prior over a young Peachey. Same goes for Holdsworth over Townsend.

We have got too old. This is reminiscent of 2009, the year after we were = minor premiers. We looked good for 2010 but were old & slow for the game that year.

We are dumb as dog shit signing old players over young ones!

Tupou cops a lot of unwarranted criticism. Sure he gets injured a bit, and he probably wasn't worth the 400k a year we signed him for.. However, the clean up work he does in defence and the one on one tackles he makes are being sorely missed, and at least he knows how to pop and offload, something no one else in our team besides Fifita and maybe Heighnington have heard of.. (Not that it would matter anyway as no one is ever trailing).

I guess my point is Craig, we need youth. But we always choose experience over youth.

Our balance is way out !

It's ASADA guys. Last year under Flanno the boys hung tough. This year without him they have gone flat. They like Sharpie but they LOVE Flanno.
Unfortunately I can't see this going away until the findings/punishments are delivered and the whole club can focus on winning games....no distractions and moolah on the jersey.
If, as suggested, ASADA have nothing I hope the club has QCs with wigs neatly brushed to hit them with a very substantial compensation suit.
Me? I've followed this club for nearly 40 years so I'm going nowhere. However, I won't watch at the moment 'cos I won't put my family and myself thru the pain. I'll just pop in here each day & lurk as usual, and continue to tell the people who comment on the signed team photo I have on my office wall that all I want is to see a premiership before I die.

The Sharks sorely need a coach/director who isn't afraid to shake shit up. Brian Smith, Tim Sheens are 2 blokes who are brilliant short term (2-3 years). They also work hard with juniors.

Sharp is not a good assistant coach and he's now a head coach who never wanted to be a head coach. That lack of desire for his role now is obvious & will have an effect on the club

Unfortunately you, like me, will probably never see that day.

FFS perspective ? Does anybody on here have any or has this just turned into whingers paradise?
$2 million worth of players in the stands is not an excuse? FMD, if its not an excuse, why do we sign them?
The best part of all of this is that at least some of the great players we have at the club are finally being recognised for their worth. Throw Gal , Lewie, Toops, Robbo into that defensive line & we are a formidable outfit. We will be 0-8 but we will scream home winning 14 straight.

Not true unless you are a gun junior. A kid I know was under Sheens for 4years. Played 20s and NSW Cup and Sheens never talked to him. Only interested in those he saw as first graders. Heard he is often like that.

I'm sure its been said before however I believe the ASADA mess covered our deficiencies last year.

We weren't great, however everyone was able to say look how good we are going, we are dealing with all this off field pressure and still making an impact.

Completely hypothetical, however I put it to the floor that we wouldn't have done any better last year sans ASADA.

The new boys coming back will certainly help, however we won't be world beaters. They also won't be 100% when they get back either, so they'll take a few games (at least to get up to speed). Then there will be Origin just in time.

I doubt we will be spooners, however a bottom four finish won't surprise me.

Then next year will be much the same. The excuse will be that Flanno was out so he wasn't able to control recruiting, hence it's not the team he wants. So I predict a no (foreseeable) excuse season in 2016.

That will be the year we are allowed to judge our uninspiring play.

it's not the cattle, its the coaching and the game plans. They are tired, they don't worry defences, they give Carney no options.

That's the problem.

There are teams who have a starting 17 not much better or worse than what the Sharks have at the moment, and they are winning games.

The game has sped up, teams are running just wide of the ruck more often, less defenders, quicker play the balls.

The Sharks continue to amble it up the guts

This last game is a classic example, Sharks props didn't even make 30 tackles each. Prior, Graham, Heighington and Arona all had 33 tackles or more. They also had 7 missed tackles amongst them. Ayshford and Leutele had 18 and 17 tackles respectively. Carney and Holdsworth had 15 and 12. Carney and Ayshford had 16 missed tackles between them.

Newcastles props Snowden and Mason did as much defensive work as their backrowers and they spent almost half as much time on the field as they did. The Knights centres even did far less defensive work than the Sharks centres.

This one out stuff the Sharks coaching staff persist with is denying the team a chance to win games.

Maybe the players know something which has made them lose their motivation.

Like the ASADA outcome...

Because The Sop, Brown & Holmes are all failing in house KPI's. Badly. They are not doing what the coaches say & playing how they want.
Sop will be back though & is being brought into grade the correct way. Goes back to NSW cup & works on deficiencies & builds on the positives & comes back into firsts a better player.

dCarney and Ayshford had 16 missed tackles between them.
Carney was isolated & targeted. That is where the game was won & lost. Ayshford had to be in 2 places at once all day covering for Carney. Same Prior. Im surprised thhe didnt miss twice as many tackles.
& you are kidding if our missing players wouldnt change things around. There is nobody in the NRL with a squald as depleted as ours.
