Pretty rich coming from a team that had the worlds biggest sooks Toovey and Terry Hill. You clowns wish you had a player of Thurstons ability, yeah he disputes decisions, but he is the captain AND is right half the time, seeing all the hard work your team puts in on the field get nullified by p!ss poor refeereing, can you blame him?? All I hear on these boards is blowing up deluxe at how $hit the refs are this and prior years, yet when a player blows up on the field, you condemn him. I disagree. While there's plenty of inter-club jealousy in this thread, plenty of players have just as much or more passion and don't behave the way he does. I can't take the way he carries on when things don't go his way. Juvenile, infantile.

I can only remember a handful of times where he has blown up deluxe in the last 12 months, he is certainly no Terry Hill, Toovey, Wally Lewis every match.

I still think the winning is a lot to do with it, not many non-Cowboys fans here probably watched many games when Glen Morrison was playing for us, he used to give his all in games and was our best player for 5 years, but MAN did he WHINGE to ref's (most of the time I agreed with him), he would get a real sook going on too.

But it was only after he went to Parra that people started saying he was a sook, grub etc.

Matt Bowen is the most level headed calm guy Ive ever seen (almost to a fault).

Id challenge you to name even one time that he cracked up on the field.

Simply put, I'm jealous of him. A young guy who hit his strides all of a sudden and just kept improving, despite my own subconscious desire to see him fail in some way, because that's what we all do.

And because he's a bit of an enigma, for such a young guy to be so intent on going about his work, and commanding the respect of his team, to the extent that they listen when he rips into them.

Plus because I'm a Knights fan seeing this guy on the way up when our own champion halfback was on the other side of the hill, it's clear we all have a complex about that.

He is a fantastic player. I'm not sure how it's actually possible for someone to 'hate' Thurston in the usual way, because there's nothing there to get riled up on besides his rat man features and reported short fuse. So maybe people have a bad reaction to him because despite how they try, they can't find something to react badly to.

He didn't say they were cheating,he had some kind of joke with the ref...and muttered it after one of the penalties.

No doubt Thurston is an awesome player who at his best is great to watch but he sooks way too much and its not passion......other players have passion and dont sook anywhere near as much as him....
