As I said its irrelevant how many Aussies watch the acl. Its a huge asian market and seeing as thats where the money is at these days its a perfect opportunity for sponsors. And yes, the wanderers final was watched by more than 10 of the last nrl grand finals combined.

link?

I love the nrl but its a drop in the ocean compared to soccer in asia. Thats why asian champions league participation is gold for sponsors.

Great, an estimate from the tele used as proof. Really helpful. Let me know if you find any proof (you wont).

"Almost" 200 million over the group stage. So i assume 8 groups, 6 games in each group, so about 4 million per game across the whole of asia. Thats a bit different to the 200 million you claimed earlier.

That's the group games. The 90 million forecast was for the final. The nrl can't even fathom the number of viewers the acl pulls. Accept it. Soccer is huge in Asia and only getting bigger.

so what are we areguing here?

anyway. i think its a good idea but im not sure a sharks branded team is the way to go.

if we have the team as tennants and they pay us to play at the venue im good with. but day to day running etc.

Who knows. Anyway I think we can run it but I don't necessarily think it needs to be called the Sharks or whatever.

So 4 mil in group games, a majority being in japan and china. So a final between a team from saudi and australia would def pull huge numbers in those countries. Let me know when you get a link of anything near 90 million. 4 is close i guess...

Haha. You are kidding right? The nrl best ever numbers of 4.5m vs 68.19m in china alone for a final a couple of years ago. Give up mate. I love the nrl but its a tiny sport.

I don't love the NRL and I don't love the sookarh.

The current mob running the NRL remind me of a small scale version of the mob running the sookarh ... FIFA.

Same as the mob running the Olympics.

Modern Sport is totally forked. IT IS ALL BUSINESSES NOW !!! with bloodsuckers hooked onto the teet.

FIFA is probably the most corrupt sporting body by some distance. God help us if the Nrl get even close to that.

Sharks are going for a team in the National 2nd division. Good idea.

I think they have a good chance of getting in, I would say 3 teams from NSW.
Reading what is required we tick the boxes, I think the other key thing, is we are not tied to any European country
