Note carefully, the Roosters statement says SBW has "pledged his committment" to play with the Roosters in 2014, so on past form (e.g. ditching the dogs mid-season, Kiwis backflip), how solid is that committment really. If he is committed he would sign a legally binding contract now. Why would he wait?

Money from a boxing match - deemed not within the salary cap, as he is not contracted.

But it isn't out of the equation provided he is eligible for State of Origin because he is eligible to play for Australia after this World Cup.

By the way Tonie Carroll, Nathan Fien and Brad Thorn have all represented NZ in either League or Union and played State of Origin

Where was his Aussie granny born? Hopefully, south of Macksville.

Out there question but what is SBW's standing under the State of Origin qualification rules. I know he fails the new rules but he has previously met the old rules. He has an Australian grand mother so he could change his alliegence to Australia if he wanted to. Origin may be his next goal

He'd be a Queenslander, wouldn't he ?

Should have kept his hair TBH. I think because he has already played for NSW in u-18's he is eligible for SoO. I really wouldn't be surprised if that is what he is doing. Play Origin next year then back to Union for 2015 WC and 2016 Olympics and then possibly retire as I doubt he will be able to play much into his 30's with the injuries he has had in his career

If he win the WC with the kiwis then the only thing for him to do in Rugby league is to play SOO  NSW to finally win if he plays Orgin next year

As a kiwi, if he helps us win a RLWC, I'd encourage him to play SOO. If he then goes on to help NSW win their first series for nearly a decade it would make him the undisputed master of the RL universe.

It will be interesting to watch soon-to-be team mates Sonny Bill Williams up against Remi Casty when New Zealand plays France in Avignon on Friday November 1st at 8 pm.
