From the initial selection of Gidley, it would seem that the game plan for NSW would require Reynolds rather than Sutton.

Whatever it is that makes him origin standard must be visible to some but I can't see it. Very happy for him to have a blinder and help us go 1 up though. Can't bag him too much before seeing how he goes.

It is because you know regardless of his ability he won't be shy and will look to add energy from the bench. Something Gidley has never done. Also he is genuine cover for the halves and hooker while Sutton is a specialist five eighth. Reynolds is a good runner of the football as well. Sutton would be like a few years ago when Josh Morris was on the bench.

No pressure to understand the gravity of that --- you're just a Raiders fan. I wouldn't expect you to get it.

Reynolds is a lot better player then many on here are gving him credit for. His long kicking game isn't the best but it won't be required for his role in the side. He is a dangerous runner of the ball with a good step and create breaks and opportunities for himself and those outside him out of nothing.

Sutton is a great player and wouldn't be out of place in Origin but I don't think he would add as much to the team balance. Sutton is also generally a left side player which we have plenty of. G Stewart would have been ideal on the bench if fully fit
