If  the rabbletohs go down in this match I think we can blame Maguire for only naming 5 captains.

How is Ham Burgess going to perform captain duties? His own teammate Greg Inglis barely understood him the first time they met. GI thought Ham Burgess was lunch. How will the referee manage to communicate with Ham Burgess out on the field?

Its a sign of new things happening in the game. Rugby League is forever changing and as is the norm Souths are at the forefront of that change.

When I first heard the story I thought they had to be kidding. But the more I thought about it the more I liked it.

Obviously their will be some hickups along the way. But given time I think this will work.

Rank them as to who's been at the club the longest.

1. Sutton
2. Asotasi
3. Crocker
4. Burgess
5. King

Then have an arm wrestling competition using the old top 5 finals system to determine who gets to be captain each week.

Wrestle 1: Burgess vs King (loser eliminated)
Wrestle 2: Asotasi vs Crocker
Wrestle 3: Winner wrestle 1 vs loser wrestle 2 (loser eliminated)
Wrestle 4: Winner wrestle 2 vs Sutton
Wrestle 5: Winner wrestle 3 vs loser wrestle 4 (loser elimnated)
Wrestle 6: Winner wrestle 4 vs Winner Wrestle 5:

Winner of wrestle 6 gets to get captain for the week!

Repeat this process the following week.

Ever heard the saying "to many Chiefs, not enough Indians". Half the team is busy barking orders to the rest, with conflict ideas, then arguements on who's idea is the best, then who's the senior Captain.

Replace "that change" with "the LOLs" and you've got it right.

When I first heard the story I thought they had to be kidding. But the more I thought about it the more I liked it.

Well it's good that you like something about your club. It's not like you're going to have much opportunity to enjoy your team's performances this season.

Obviously their will be some hickups along the way. But given time I think this will work.

How much more time do you need? I mean it's been 40 years and counting.
