Special One to leave Madrid?

Yeah doesn't make sense to keep him if he wasn't going to play. Strange.

Roma need a CB (or two) in summer. How do you rate Subotic, TT? Any other names you think would be good?

We've been linked with Vertonghen from Ajax (who I would love) and also Otamendi from Porto.

Argh, I was hoping Bayern would sign Vertonghen but he's too good it seems.

Subotic is all class. He's pretty big, about 6'4 or 6'5 so obviously aerial dominance is his strength but unlike his partner (Hummels) he can play on the ball, pass out of the defense and is reasonably quick in acceleration and on the turn (big Hummels flaw) he's only young as well, 23 I think.

He posses all the markings IMO to become a Nemanja Vidic in the future. He's got dumb errors in his game but he's young and has been improving every year since he was at Mainz.

As for his availability. If Roma get him then that's a real steal and you'd obviously have a contending team because BvB are dominating BL, actually improving their squad with Reus and he's tied down for another couple of years. I've read ManU are interested in a bid upwards of €20m but BvB will want to do well in next seasons CL and ManU current strength is CB depth. I honestly feel his next move would to one of those two La Liga teams though.

You're more than welcome to Badstuber lol

TBH I'm not sure we will be able to sign Vertonghen, as he seems to be in high demand. I think he would be perfect though, my no. 1 choice for sure. Some whispers in Italy this week suggest that he is top of our list and the club is preparing to make a formal offer. He would cost quite a bit I imagine. Always liked the look of him: can pass the ball really well and can also play as a DM, I believe he has played alot for Belgium in that position.

I think he will definitely be leaving Ajax as they are currently 5th in Dutch league and unlikely to be playing in CL next year.

Yeah, we aren't linked with Subotic, I was just curious as I've been trying to think of possible names we should be looking at and his name popped to mind. Only seen him a few times and he looked good. Doubt we will be able to sign him, especially if we are not in CL next season. He would want to move to a CL club at the very least if he was to go.

And no thanks on Badstuber. Kjaer has been bad enough. Really had high hopes for him as he impressed at Palermo but was a disaster at Wolfsburg last season. Has continued that form for us. To be honest he has all the physical attributes to succeed, very good in the air, decent passer, maybe a little slow but at Palermo his positioning was first class and made up for his lack of pace. His problems seem to be mostly mental. Either way he is only on loan and unless he drastically improves in the next couple of months we won't sign him outright.

What the hell has happened to Kjaer?!

He was one of the best young CB's in Europe at Palermo.

His confidence is broken. Not reacting well to adversity.

To be honest it hasn't been the best environment for a young defender, our whole backline is pretty shaky and add to that Luis Enrique has brought in a new system so it's much of a learning process as anything else.

Still has all the physical attributes to be a top player, just needs some confidence.
