That's true too - we all have to agree not to do it. I know it's better when we each take responsibility and don't need to be policed, etc. The mods have to keep everything in toe when anyone steps out of line.
It's having that balance where we can express our own unique ways of humour, stupidity, insights, truths, opinions, etc, that brings texture and quality to the forum, hopefully lots of fun and laughter along the way as well, and at the same time be able to debate, scrutinise, argue, etc, without making anything "personal" and without having to become "nasty", hell-bent on venting whatever "stuff" he/she/it dredges up to be used as an intended character assassination, etc.
It should never have to come to a situation where someone important like Stagger has to throw the towel in and walk away. No one deserves to be treated like shit which is what happened with Stagger.
We all have free-will, if you don't like someone for whatever reason ignore their posts and focus on those parts of the forum discussion that appeal to you. Unfortunately this creates clicky groups which brings its own problems - many of us have been abused by such "herd-mentalities".
I just can't see why it is so hard not to have good will for everyone regardless if you disagree with someones views or dislike their attitudes/character traits.
Very good points Casper. I tend to agree with all of that. I think the fact is that it's always going to be impossible for everyone to agree or everyone to agree to be nice to each other because everyone has their own opinions.
Let's face it.
Spartan - against the board and coach
Bartman - against the board and coach
Poupou - Just here to argue about anything and discuss LBA's
Suity - Just here to make condescending or sarcastic remarks to other's posts
True Eel - seems to sook everytime time people disagree with him and take it personally and going on rants about it and then boast about his PHD about vegetation management.
Stagger - Getting offended because someone bagged him out for providing rumours which turned out to be true. Fair enough to get upset but you shouldn't let it affect your use of the forum.
Boxhead - Thinking it's sunshine and lollipops no matter how well or how poor we're going
SDM - Just being a troll for the hell of it
Maroubra - Likes taking the piss
Casper - Presenting his conspiracy theories.
Eels Dude (myself and very willing to criticize myself too) - very willing to whinge after a loss, disagree with other people's opinions just for the sake of it, question coaches and board decisions and have a sook when people disagree with me. I can also be sarcastic at times just for the sake of it.
Is there anyone I've left out?
It'd be a hell of an effort if we could all agree to stop getting into arguments because it only takes one post in a single thread to throw that threat off topic completely.
