The NRL or ARL shouldn't be buying council favours. Even if we did have AFL's money we shouldn't be spending it on the kind of nonsense those Victorians spend their money on.

I am not angry at VFL, I am angry that democratic council would sell thier rates payers assests to one group to the detriment of all others.

It is disgusting and I would hope League would not do this.

Sounds like he might have got a few emails and is starting to get the shits. I hope it isn't counterproductive to voice disgust with the decision.

Apologies for leaving in the private number.

I received a response from John Perry:

Are you also disgusted that grounds such as ringrose and macredie are rugby league only, or is just AFL that disgusts you. Give me a call if you are interests in facts my number is 04******** look forward to your call.

Here in Mudgee there are dedicated grounds for Union and League but Union has by far the interest of the more affluent.

Even so, both codes to my knowledge would not prohibit either from using grounds even if they had the power to do so.

How does League get on in Victoria . . . does anyone know?

Seriously if you wasn't an RL fan but just a ratepayer you wouldn't care, in fact you'd probably be applauding the council for bringing in extra revenue to maintain their facilities. I know the WARL grounds are fenced and I am guessing they are for the use of RL only, might not have a sign but they are. Personally I would love for the WARL to have the funds to set up RL pitches all over Perth to encourage more players and clubs to start up. If there were no RL pitches in the council area and a big demand for them and they were spending rate payers money on an AFL pitch then you might have a point. As it is they are still supplying other sporting facilities for other codes but with this one have off set some of the running costs by making it sole use. We have a golf course that is council paid for, I doubt they would let you start playing footy on the fairway!

Victorians have been cutting down Rugby posts since the 1920's mate.

Is this a public oval or 1 that is attached to a club who oversees the maintenance?

If it is not fenced off and secured then I hazard a guess they are not being serious about maintaing the ground
