Sri Lanka tour of NZ

It's something I haven't seen before. Even when we got up to third in the world in the early 2000s we still folded meekly fairly often.

Agree, this isn't like that Black Caps team of the early 00s.

Yes they did well in England and Australia which helped set them up to #3, but it always felt like we were hanging in there rather than actually defeat teams like this current lot.

At the moment I'd back us to take on anyone apart from South Africa.

That's essentially what we've actually done...

I'd like to see how this team goes in India and Australia, also England this year should be interesting. I'd back us to beat India and England, Australia will be tougher.

The last Australian tour was a bit of a false positive imo, we got thumped in the first test and won by a whisker in the second (great win though).

Of course the real test is South Africa.

Declare with 10 overs left in the day I reckon, lead should be around 350 by then or even higher if we have a bit of a swing.

Keep the match safe, the Sanga factor is there

Wonderful cover drive. Williamson is so strong with that shot.

I'm going to go a different way and say we declare when the required rate for Sri Lanka would be 4 runs per over. Enough to tempt them initially, but too much to risk the loss unless they bat extremely well.

I don't see us winning in India. Would love to play Australia here, have no qualms suggesting we beat them here. England will be interesting - desperately need that opener, hate Williamson being a default opener consistently - would even consider adding Brownlie at 3 and dropping the big 3 to 4, 5 and 6

Australia is probably the hardest place for anyone to tour, the Aussies are of course ignorant to that - do well to break even there.

Definitely time to have a good bash now

Hopefully grab 1-2 wickets tonight and we're in the box seat
