Stadium staff and service.....

From what is being said here, the issues are:

- Lines too long for food stand
- showing your ticket when leaving your seat and returning
- service at the food stalls are very slow

If you think closing the gates will help reduce all those issues, then I hope they close the gates to make some people happy in this place.

The lines have always been long with regards to getting a beer or something to eat and the service by the people working in the food stalls have always been very poor.

Which other stadium has this type of setup where the gates effects the service?

Like I mentioned, it doesn't bother me whether the gates are open or close anyway

I think you will find, that Closing the gates will have no effect on the other two but, I see them as separate issues, and the gates being opened to give the people on the terraces "Options" is a bullsh*t response and a very poor idea for a fix to the other two that has adversely effected people in the grandstands.

If you think it is only people on here wingeing, trust me you haven't seen the rancour this is causing over in the Cronin stand.

Mark's right. Fix the service in the other areas and the Cronin stand patrons wouldn't need to be incovenienced.
This was just a poor attempt to solve the problem.

The kid at the bottom of the stairs looked at me and thanked me each time I walked up the stairs. Nit sure why really, I never showed him my ticket at all nor would I have if he'd have asked.
Why not? :? Kid is just there doing his job and by your account very polite..

Well I have sat in the X-Seats at ANZ for the last 2 Bulldogs games and was asked for my ticket everytime I went over the bridge to the toilets and food stall.

SFS, regardless if you are Category 1 or GA, you use the same facilities.

Suncorp, you can walk around the stadium and use the facilities like Red Rooster and the Beer garden and it
it'ss open to everyone

MITS do u show your pass when you sit on Level 4 at ANZ?

This is true. I have never been stopped for my ticket in the WT.

In saying that we do have problems with people sitting in the wrong seat.
Last night there was this "lady" (and I say this extremely loosely). Who was not sitting in her correct seat. When the members turned up whose seat she was sitting on asked her to move, she told them to "p*ss off, I was here first". When they said that these were their "members seats" She just glared at them and said "what part of p*ss off don't you understand".

This was made even more interesting when the ticket stadium staff asked her to move. Then it was on for young and old. It seemed that she should have been in the Northern Terrace, but like the view from the Western Terrace instead. They ended up calling cops, but she moved before they arrived, but not before some very choice words went flying.

Was the most entertaining part of the night :D

No wonder mum was ropable when she got home.

Because it's complete andutter bullsh*t and I refuse to do it.
Seems a bit of an over reaction IMO - a member of staff asks you to show your ticket; happens at most 'events' regardless of who you are - but fair enough - your entitled to express your views.

I love where you are going with this champ.

I have also sat in the X-Seats, and the issue there is that for the most part, people can come from the normal seated section onto the walkways and that is why you have to show your ticket to get into the X-Seat lounge (Crossing the Bridge)for members only food and drink. If you wanted to go to the normal food stalls, you are normally not stopped although there is an usher on every single walk way.

But to Answer your question, no I just have to wear my Gold Members Lanyard, I don't have to show it to get Lady at the Door to read every detail on the ticket, I don't have to wait in a line until she verifies I am entering the right door, I go in the Turnstile marked members and I go to the lounge, if I have entered the premises then my ticket is valid, if I have a gold members lanyard on, I get into the lounge, the only time I have ever seen people stopped is if they are not wearing their lanyard or their dress was wrong (Normally to do with thongs), no real checking and the big benefit, once I am in my section (the Gold Members lounge on level 4), I don't need to show my ticket if I go to the Bathroom or go to get a drink of water, or go to talk with a mate who is having a smoke, I can walk in and out of the seated area with no problems. That is something we used to have a Parramatta Stadium, and something many want back.

It's not really convenient when you have your arms full of drinks , pies and hot dogs , it's never happened to me at any other sports event , not even at concerts .
To combat this problem I was given a safety pin at the manly game so that i could pin my ezy ticket to my shirt , an A4 sized piece of paper - utterly ridiculous .
The crux of the matter is that the people that pay bigger dollars to watch the footy are being inconvenienced whenever they leave their seat whilst the people that get the cheaper tickets are free to wander back and forth from their seat without having to cart their ticket around or pin it to their chest .
I feel sorry for season ticket holders who stump up a few hundred bucks in advance and end up having to put up with this nonsense .

Hey - i am not trying to make this a big issue - i just show my ticket when asked, i can understand frustration when you are carrying drinks/food or have kids around etc. And i know that it's only started this season - i was shocked when first asked but FMD how about our team gets a win...I along with others in MCS would love to have exclusive access to food and drinks as MITS has pointed out - this outrage IMO about having to show a ticket seems a bit OTT - STH don't own their seats or access to the stadium. Anyways - hoping for a satisfying win by the eels v bunnies and Wenty v Jets on Sunday :)

Fair enough if in your opinion the complaining is over the top ...I don't think it is but that is also just my opinion - I only go 3 or 4 times a year due to work committments ....I'll probably stick with the terrace for the next game anyway - that'll save me 11 bucks .lol
Hopefully the Eels can give us something not to whinge about after sunday .:p
