What I loved about this trailer;
the shot of Boyega as the deserting stormtrooper with the familar Imperial Probe Droid sound effect in the offscreen
The shot of the rolllling astromech droid, obviously Kira's polar opposite to Anakin/Luke's R2D2, with the old pod racer engines Inbackground. One of them looks remarkably like Sebulba's from Phantom Menace. As much as the prequels sucked, I thought it was a nice little tie in between the new and old trilogies and giving a nod to the universe that has already been established. I'm not a Star Trek fan (haven't even seen a full film) but apparently this is something Abrams did very, very well to his reboot.
I didn't like the Stormtrooper design when I saw the leaked helmet but after seeing them in "real time" I'm slightly more convinced and can't wait to see the Chrome Stormtroopers.
Kira Solo. Somehow Daisy Ridley is believeable in likeness to a young Carrie Fisher AND Natalie Portman. The brief speeder shot showing a minimal Tatooine similar to A New Hope pre-Special Editions made me smile.
The X-wings; I'd seen leaked set photos but to see them for real was great. Also the x wing pilot outfits have an element of the Naboo starfighter helmets to them.
The Sith Inquisitor; I need to do some Knights of the Old Republic era reading but my understanding of these guys is that they were more like Sorcerers as opposed to warriors in the Sith Empire and relied more on powers than skills in combat. Give this guy a lightsabre and he will rival Vader in the badass stakes.
The Millennium Falcon accompanied by the main title in a dogfight with TIE fighters that is NOT in space! Also, it would have been a cop out to give the Falcon another round radar dish after it was dislodged during the Battle of Endor.... love the "unfamiliar" square radar.
