Sheens with Benji's support went and signed Klemmer and Bateman on big dollars to fix our pack. I'd rather not spend the money if we end up with another top dollar signing like that.

No doubt that endless toxic contracts re players past their use by date has been one huge reason for our horrendous predicament however this shouldn’t happen while the hard nut & rugby league savvy Richo is in control.We will turn the corner but coz our predicament is so bad it will take a few yrs

You are correct its not a restraint of trade if the Tigers dropped him to NSW Cup, or put him on the bench.

Asking him to mow the grass? Probably not as he was not employed by the club to be a groundsman would probably be beyond what would be classified as reasonable work for someone employed as a professional rugby league player. It would be like if I was employed to be a cleaner at a hospital but was expected to perform surgery the hospital administrator, it would be beyond what could be reasonably requested of me.

I feel like with how this dragged out Stefano's management was talking to the Storm but unhappy with their offer, it was when the Dogs swooped in that he decided to go. I assume Dogs are paying well.

I agree with most of the comments on here, he isn't worth the price and we can reallocated the money to where it is needed (hopefully along with Bateman money).

How many trades involve work that's not really what their trained for eg a young chippy is told by the builder to fill the Ute up, clean the shed up, go get smoko for the boys. I mean football isn't orthopaedic surgery now is it. If it's in the best interest of the team for him to sit it out then so be it...go clean out Pascoe's locker, when ya finished do Lee's.

I think we will get someone as good, if not better for cheaper maybe even two, I think Richo would have had a contingency plan up his sleeve.
Anyway, he would have been the main hope for the last 3 seasons where we look like achieving a threepeat so not a huge loss.
Maybe in another few years, we may think differently, but the Storm will probably judge him harsher than our mob does.

From a roster perspective, I'm not overly concerned that we are losing Stefano, however from a psychology perspective it really kills us. We've worked so hard to move away from the "where careers come to die" tag, and further solidified our position with the signing of Luai and Turuva. Stefano leaving has undone all that, and until we start winning I don't see it changing.
I just really hope Richo can get some nutter Englishmen to fill our ranks and put a bit of mongrel into our forward stocks.

Yeh I know mate, me too with my opening statement re restriction of trade but I'd like to see the big guy work in the roar store ironing jerseys and cleaning with a feather duster.
He comes across as a shy guy but I'd like these guys to come out and make a statement to the fans, I'd also try to find out a way to thank them, like staying around after the game a bit longer to interact with them.
He may make a press statement but I hope he does a better job than Papa did.

Mark Geyer was spot on about Stefano on 2MMM this morning. Said it shows he doesn't have much ticker as with the players coming next season, he should have stayed and seen how things went before looking elsewhere. Moving to another club does not guarantee that a Grand Final win will occur. In fact he intimated that Stefano lacks resilience.
