Souths ruled out taking him with his brother, Hasler ruled him out, only a matter of time before another fullback needy team was attached.

Just like DCE once they figured out he doesn't want to leave Sydney and linked him to Parra instead.

Instead of editing perhaps you should have just deleted. Probably the dumbest post I've read on here in ages.

You haven't read any of her/his/its other posts then. They are all equally incoherent.

Sharks fans are going crazy imagining that we might sign Watmough (cause we need another back rower...) and Stewart.

Not sure exactly why they would want to go from a basket case that can win, to an absolute disaster that can't win...but anyway.

The thing I admire/hate about Manly is that they just keep making the right decisions with players, coaches etc. They won't fall in a heap if they lose these guys, and they know DCE is their best asset, and they won't lose him.

A Foran/DCE halves combination with decent players will always be competitive, they don't need to pay overs for loyalty's sake.

Though it might be an exaggeration to say they have 3 rep players (Stewart if uninjured would surely have played for NSW, Lyon if he wasn't a pea heart would have played for NSW and Australia for years), they really do only need DCE and Foran, Lyon at centre for a while longer, and maybe 1 or 2 up and coming players who look like they might be rep capable, and the rest of the team just needs to be competent.

Watmough agress to join Eels By Adrian Proszenko Sept. 8, 2014, 1:07 p.m.
Manly star Anthony Watmough has agreed to join Parramatta on a three-year deal from 2016 but could arrive earlier if granted a release from the Sea Eagles.

Watmough is contracted to the 2013 grand finalists for next season but is keen to get out as soon as possible, although it remains to be seen if the Sea Eagles will be prepared to let him go.

The NSW and Australian forward remains disappointed with the treatment of friend and teammate Glenn Stewart, who wasn't tabled an offer to remain at Brookvale next season. Stewart will instead join South Sydney.

Watmough has a strong relationship with Eels coach Brad Arthur from their time together at Manly last year and believes the blue-and-golds are a team on the rise. His signing with the Eels comes despite Manly's attempts to re-sign him on a two-year deal.

There has been a well publicised falling out between Watmough and Manly teammate Daly Cherry-Evans, ironically another signing target for the Eels. The chances of the Maroons playmaker also making the shift to Parramatta are now remote.

Watmough is on a heavily back-ended contract for next year worth almost $1 million. Parramatta have been attempting to clear out a number of players deemed surplus to requirements in order to free up salary cap and re-shape their roster. That process may enable them to add Watmough should he be available to leave early

Watmough has been outspoken about his disappointment with aspects of Manly's management in recent times, prompting powerbrokers to slap a media ban on him. It was briefly lifted last week, although he refused to comment on his future or relationship with management.

Watmough took to Twitter and Instagram to deny he had agreed to a any deal. "I have not signed or agreed to terms with any club beyond 2015," Watmough posted.

The Eels believe they are just one quality back and forward short of being a legitimate premiership contender and have now ticked one of those boxes. Last year's wooden spooners were the big improvers in 2014 but fell one win short of the finals when they lost to Canberra on Saturday night.

The development is further bad news for a Manly side which has been decimated by injuries ahead of Friday night's clash with South Sydney.

While Manly are entitled to enforce the final year of Watmough's contract, they may decide it is better to release a player who doesn't want to be there rather than risk further division in the playing ranks.

The story Watmough agress to join Eels first appeared on The Sydney Morning Herald.

Eh.

Foran's the main worry in all this.

What do you mean by this, what have you heard about Foran?

I can handle Watmough & Matai leaving, wish them all the best, both are & will always be Manly legions. I hope we don't lose DCE or Foran???

I thought the storm premiership window would close before Manly....this year will be their last genuine opportunity for a while.

All the infighting at Manly has finally officially spilled over on the field. It was bound to happen eventually and anyway Manly peaked to early this year like the Dogs.

Roosters, Souths and Cowboys are timing their runs.

Watmough at times looked disinterested last night and had a poor attitude.
