I believe they are 2 different things, I grew up in Newcastle and raced Moto x so was reffered to as a westy as i wasn't into the beach and surfing. Plus to be a bogan isn't it a requirement to have/had/stolen/joyridden in a VL commodore at one stage?

I was thinking more of the Sydney eviroment but you do have a point. Not every Westy is a bogan.
