Bloody kids have it so easy these days.

Although they have missed out on a lot.

Like using a pencil to rewind of fast forward a cassette

Remember when double tape decks came in ?

Mind blown.

Shit I remember the first CD player I ever saw (87 ish) costing $700 bucks

I remember beta and VHS sections in the video store too

The first remote I saw was on uncles video player. It was connected to the video by a long cord not this cordless gear we have now

I have a new favourite thread on the main board now.

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=423446

imagine trying to argue with MU on the history of rugby league and union.

He knows a lot. I like MU, but he takes to arguments with a sledgehammer and appears to think he must be right or the internet will stop working.

I'm now an 8th Level Black Belt in masturbation.

I'm getting a good lol from the art majors evaluating Gus' article like it's HSC English all over again in this thread personally http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=423572

Great article. Not the Magna Carta though.

I'm old enough to remember the mighty battle between Betacord and VHS, hell I remember the change from Black and white tv to colour.

Porn went VHS - Beta never recovered.

Bloody kids have it so easy these days.

I'm born in 84 - I hate only having slivers of memories for these things.

It will make me sound like a troglodyte, but I'm not convinced technology has improved life so much as it has distanced us from reality...

... says the man typing this all on a laptop to his friends on the internet...

I am still amazed at how far and fast we have moved. i mean here I am at 45 years old I can remember when B&W tv became colour, when a 14 inch tv was the norm. When the 68cm tv was the next big thing, then rear projection then plasma then lcd then led all in around 30 years

I kinda did the same with my old grand final tapes.

Plugged the VCR into the DVD recorder. Didn't work out so well though. Quality was shit.

Didgi, because you werent around at the time, this is what a VCR looks like.

Truly mate growing up through the 70's and 80's I can absolutely positively guarantee it was more fun being a kid then. Sure kids these days have flash toys but they just don't live life anymore it's all indoors on pc's phones tablets gaming systems etc.

What you're saying 9701 is that we at least had a brief glorious childhood before becoming sad f**ks who spend their lives on the internet and watching TV.

I had an awesome and glorious childhood tbh, which had a lot to do with the street we lived in. Things kind of went downhill when a friend showed me mmorpgs though... :sarcasm:

I remember the first "household" computer released. My dad got one, I was young at the time. Also, dial-up internet ftw.

Bah, being a kid with technology is awesome. Always had the best, even though it cost us an arm and a leg to get it. We had one of them old foxtel flash cards, free ppvs every month. Was quite good.

I had a fantastic childhood in spite of the street I lived in. Junkies and drug dealers and gangs oh my.

It's hard to fathom just how fast the internet I've got now is compared to what we got on the old dial-up we had on our Windows 99 or whatever it was we had.

I'd wait half an hour just for some shitty flash game to load.

I do remember waiting 15 minutes for the computer to start up. If my laptop isn't on in about 10 seconds nowadays I'll throw it.
