Congratulations mate! Good to hear.

Likewise for me, when I say it people think I'm crazy.

I just could'nt bare to put them 1/2 of what I went through, I was one of the lucky ones to. While I got a serve case of my condition (Physically at lease. Mentally I was fine) it has the potential to cause so much more damage around 20-23 for a male as they reach their late-stages of development which has me worried as I already have 3/5 signs of it advancing.

Yep.

My mum blamed herself for everything(even though its not even remotely her fault). And she is a much stronger woman than I. When i was in hospital it was real hard on her. When I was in a coma she didn't leave my bedside the entire 3 days.

I know I sound selfish, but I couldn't knowingly put my child through what I did. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

My mum gave me my condition (She only has a very-mild case, as does my brother) and she blames me for it. Ah, lovely. Yeah, it might be deemed selfish from people who don't understand- but I see your point of view 100% and can sympathise it as well. As you said, you couldn't knowingly put a child through it.

If by some means they work out a cure for what I have, or how to remove it from my genes via IVF then I might re-think my stance. But for now, that's my ground.

I once had a guy at work refuse to work with me (I was a casual) after he found out I felt this way. I decided when I was in my early teens and my mind has not changed.

My puppy decided to use my head as a launch pad today. Good times.

To the dads out there; how did you deal with the whole 'Your wife is in agony giving birth to your child' bit.

Like, I know that's what is meant to happen; its the way its designed etc. But I find it hard to cope with the idea my wife, whom I desperately love, will have to endure this.

God designed it for the lols :sarcasm:

I'm much the same. Decided around 15 when the doctors told me "At 20 it can make a turn for the worse" and I saw how much I'd already been through. I don't let people bother me anymore. It will affect me come deeper into relationships when people start talking kids, but it' just my preference.

Anyway, at least you're no longer the only person you know who's the same!

I don't let it bother me any more. But when I was younger it did.

My mum always tells me I missing the "mother gene" anyway. Never know. It might all change if I met the right man.

I am cool with it

I mean women have done it for hundreds of thousands of years

Epidurals rock the house !!

Don't go in for all this natural birth crap. Don't try to be a hero and take the meds

There is no shame in it and all these free birth shite is just that, shite

Do I gym or not gym?

Gym!

People say I'd make a great dad. I'm good with kids. All my little cousins <3 absolutely love me. Although, I don't see it in me though. Heck, the other day my little cousin didn't want to eat because she was having to much fun with me. I had to actually sit down with her and eat while my Uncle fed her. Uncle was in shock- she's never done that with anyone.

You can't deny a woman's strength to push through this mate. Come the time- she'll be ready. You'll just have to be strong for her and let the doctors and mid-wives do their best and let them work (Which some father's in panic mode struggle with). If she has an epidural that helps numb the agonising pain by a lot and should help to lower her stress levels a bit in regards to the pain.

I will give u an idea of an epidural

The missus tried to go natural but after four hours and only dilating another 2cm she couldn't do it anymore despite the hot shower etc. ( he took 26 hours to arrive)

She had the epidural and ten minutes later she is watching tv and calling her sister on her mobile while asking me to buy some chips from the machine
